A revered member of The Sun Ra Arkestra since 1958 and the ensemble’s leader since 1995 (following Sun Ra’s departure from this realm in 1993), Marshall Allen has just released his solo debut at the ripe age of 100. New Dawn, a love letter to spacetime that channels a century of musical transience and transcendence into seven outer dimensional tracks, is out now on Mexican Summer. To celebrate this momentous release, we’re giving away an autographed vinyl test-pressing which includes a cool silk-screened 12” print. (Local prize pickup required.)
