Glomus is a Cookeville-based trio that plays what you might call old school math rock. Some would peg them as a post-rock band as well, from those heady days back in the '90s when bands explored experimental textures and timbre rather than traditional song forms, often employing complicated time signatures, lots of effects pedals and minimal or no vocals. Glomus do all this while never losing sight of compositional structure on their debut album 'Circle.' The band manages to make all that complexity sound accessible while rocking like nobody's business. It's a compelling and epic sound and I can't wait to hear them create it live at Grimey's when Glomus celebrates the release of their album with a free, all ages in-store performance. This one's on a Saturday during BEER:30 so expect free beers if you're 21 or over.
