Amanda Shires In-Store Performance & Record Release Celebration

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We hope you’ll join us on Friday, July 29th at 6:00 PM, as we celebrate the release of our friend Amanda Shires’ new album, Take It Like a Man. Shires will perform a short set in the record shop with a trio of musicians. Wristbands—free with preorder of the album on vinyl or CD—are required for attendance for *all. You can preorder the album now in the record store or on our webstore.

**7/29 Update: Our preorder has sold out online but we will have copies of Take It Like A Man available for purchase at Grimey’s on CD and limited edition white vinyl in the record store, available for local, in person purchase today, Friday, July 29th. We also have a limited number of wristbands available with purchase of the album in the store. In person purchases only, please.**

Grammy and Americana-award-winning singer-songwriter and violinist Amanda Shires has pushed the reset button with Take It Like A Man, releasing a record that is so unlike anything she has ever recorded that you would be tempted to think it’s her debut album instead of her seventh. Shires, who also plays in The Highwomen, worked with producer Lawrence Rothman (Angel Olsen, Kim Gordon) to make a fearless confessional, showing the world what turning 40 looks like in 10 emotionally raw tracks. Please join us as we welcome Shires’ new album into the world with an intimate performance in the record shop—it’s going to be a magical experience, so don’t miss out!

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to come see Amanda Shires perform in the record shop.

*Wristbands are not required for children under 13, when accompanied by someone with a wristband.
