Our good friends from Bowling Green have a new album out this Friday called Social Cues and you could get your copy signed by Cage The Elephant and get a chance to meet the band at Grimey's this Saturday!
Starting this Friday, April 19th, at 10AM, stop in Grimey's and buy Social Cues on vinyl ($22.99) or CD ($11.99) and you'll receive a wristband that guarantees you get to go through the signing line on Saturday. You must have a wristband to meet the band and get your records and CDs autographed. Please keep it to no more than 2 items to be signed and only records or CDs (i.e. please do not bring musical instruments, t-shirts, etc.). Sorry but no selfies with the band. You may take pictures of the signing in general but time does not allow for individual photos with band members.
To make it easier for folks from outside Nashville, you may also buy Social Cues online to lock in your wristband here but only on release day - Friday, April 19th (starting at 10am). You can also purchase an LP or CD on Friday or Saturday on site at Grimey's to get your wristband.
Social Cues is the fifth studio album from Cage The Elephant. Recording took place in both Nashville (Battle Tapes Recording, Blackbird Studio) and Los Angeles (The Village Recording Studio), and production was handled by John Hill, known for his work with Florence and the Machine and Portugal. The Man. Social Cues was written while frontman Matt Shultz was grappling with the dissolution of a relationship. In an effort to better sort through everything, he "explored the hidden recesses of his psyche, creating characters to tell different parts of his personal story," according to a statement. The new album follows Cage The Elephant's Grammy-winning Tell Me I'm Pretty from 2015, and live album Unpeeled from 2017. Rolling Stone is already saying Social Cues is the band's best yet. Check out the new video for “Ready to Let Go”.
