Frances Cone is a soulful indie band based in Nashville. For someone with deep familial roots in opera and classical music, founder Christina Cone seems preternaturally capable of writing songs focused on capturing the insane, unthinking fireworks of the human heart. The band consists of Christina and Andrew Doherty and is named after Christina's father and great-grandfather, both musicians themselves in South Carolina. After releasing their full-length debut in 2013, followed by an EP, Paste magazine featured them in their "Best of What's Next" series stating, "You'll hear everything from folk inspired harmonies, to driving bass drums, to grungy synths, all culminating in an arena anthem, where Cone's roof-lifting vocals shine." Frances Cone has just released their latest album 'Late Riser' and will perform a free, all ages live set at Grimey's in celebration on Tuesday, February 5th, at 6PM.
