We're very excited that Lillie Mae has a new album out this Friday, August 16th. It's called Other Girls and once again it's on Third Man Records. Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb helped Lillie Mae craft and record the album here in Nashville at Historic RCA Studio A along with a small cast of trusted musicians, including siblings Frank Rische (guitar), Scarlett Rische (mandolin), and other long-time family collaborators. The pre-release singles are creating serious buzz and we're super stoked to have Lillie Mae come play a live set at Grimey's this Sunday, August 18th, at 1PM to celebrate the release of her new album! The show is free and all ages. We'll have copies of Other Girls on sale, and if you want to meet Lillie Mae and have her sign your records, just pick up a copy of her new album & we'll hook you up with a wristband. We'll have copies of Other Girls on starting Friday, the 16th, as well as tickets to Lillie Mae's upcoming Lightning 100 show at 3rd & Lindsley on October 13th (tickets are cash only but we do have an ATM).

Here's just some of the great press the new record is getting:

“Lillie Mae is possessed of an amazing facility, grounded in bluegrass, old timey and stringed instrument music, but this project surpasses any expectations. The first single, "You've Got Other Girls for That" soars and rips through one's psyche and takes you to a land of mystery and grace,” says NPR. Brooklyn Vegan describes the track "A Golden Year" as‘[having] hints of anything from the psychedelic folk rock of Fairport Convention to the darker early ’70s Cher songs to the kinds of songs Stevie Nicks was writing in her early Fleetwood Mac years, but it’s all seen through a modern, countrified lens...it’s clear that Lillie is turning into a force of her own and “A Golden Year” strikes a perfect balance between the familiar and something new.’

I hope to see y'all this Sunday at 1PM!
