Lucero Should’ve Learned by Now In-Store Performance, Album Signing & Record Release Celebration

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We’ve sold out of Lucero signing wristbands in advance of their upcoming event, but will make a few additional wristbands available with purchase of Should’ve Learned By Now on vinyl or CD in the record store on Friday, February 24th (the official release date of the new album). We will have a very limited supply of wristbands available that day and they will only be available with in-person purchases of Lucero’s new album in the record store (while supplies last).

We hope you’ll join us for a rare midday in-store performance on Saturday, February 25th at 3:00 PM, when Lucero will celebrate the release of their new album, Should’ve Learned By Now, with a special set in the record store, followed by an album signing. You can preorder the new record on limited edition silver colored vinyl or CD in the record store or on our site here for a wristband for their album signing (which also guarantees entrance to their performance, which otherwise is free & all ages). Space is limited, so make sure you don’t miss out on this exclusive opportunity.

For their twelfth record, Should’ve Learned by Now, Lucero drew on a lot of work from their past. Literally. By adapting songs and guitar parts that had been left over from the group’s previous two albums, Lucero was able to construct one of its most comprehensive works to date. Produced by Grammy Award-winning engineer, Matt Ross-Spang, the album is a punchy, rock and roll record that utilizes the more mature production stylings the group developed over time, and combines it with the first-person introspectiveness that the band is known and loved for. From its original Ben Nichols-designed cover art to its credits, the album is a reflection of a band that knows itself. Should’ve Learned by Now bridges the gap musically between “old Lucero” and “new Lucero” in a manner which affixes the band’s position as the perfect intersection of punk initiative with hard-earned artistry. It’s an album that recognizes the past in its sound and content, but leaves the door wide open to the future and for the lessons still in store.

It’s been ages since we’ve had the pleasure of hosting Lucero at Grimey’s and they’ve never played in our current location. This is going to be a super fun time and we can’t wait to see them take the stage in the record store!

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend Lucero’s record release signing & celebration.
