Join us on Saturday, June 28th at 4:30, aka BEER:30, for a free & all ages instore performance and album signing by Nick Govrik! He’s releasing his debut solo album, One More Time for the Man, and playing a show at 3rd & Lindsley on Friday, the 27th, and then will be celebrating the album in the record store the following afternoon.
The time immemorial Nashville musician Nick Govrik, aka “Nicky G.,” is best known as the bassist, vocalist, and primary songwriter for the country soul rock ‘n’ roll supergroup Trigger Hippy, which he co-founded with Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman and included artists Joan Osborne and Jackie Greene. A fixture of the Nashville music scene since his days in the good-time boogie-woogie band Highwater, which grew a cult-like following in the ‘90s, Govrik has played alongside legendary artists and musicians.
Nicky G. will be performing a short set of songs from his new album along with comrades-in-arms Tom Bukovac, Guthrie Trapp, Jedd Hughes, Jordan Perlson, Tim Marks and Jimmy Wallace, a collective of top-notch musicians referred to as “The Guitar Party.” Following the set Govrik will sign albums for attendees. Beyond being a music venue, DRKMTTR stands as a nexus of resilience, cultivating a dynamic community where the DIY ethos transforms into collective action. Through cross-pollination initiatives, DRKMTTR links artists, organizes communities & the under-21 crowd, and as a 501-C3 non-profit, they seek the backing necessary to perpetuate their pivotal role and create a lasting influence.
