Make plans to join us on Friday, August 16th for a special record release celebration for the new Po’ Ramblin’ Boys album, Wanderers Like Me (due out that day on the venerable Smithsonian Folk Ways label.) The band will be dropping by to play a short set in the shop and to sign copies of their new record for attendees before they head east to Pelham, Tennessee, where they’ll be performing on Saturday, September 17th at the Big Mouth Bluegrass Festival underground at The Caverns. You can preorder Wanderers Like Me in the record shop or on our site here for a wristband for the band’s signing, but their performance here is a free and all ages affair, so come one, come all!
At a time when most people feel constantly distracted by technology and barraged by the news, authenticity and straightforward honesty are paramount. There’s something about the music of The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys that cuts right through the noise of the world and speaks plainly to the soul. Formed ten years ago in the Smoky Mountains in 2014, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are at once exactly what you would expect and not at all what you would expect from a tattooed East Tennessee Bluegrass outfit. They take pride in being ambassadors of their genre and have brought their music from rural bluegrass festival stages to the rock clubs.
