When he isn't touring North America with brainy art-punk band PUJOL, Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist Brett Rosenberg is busy prepping and cooking Quichenight albums. The largely home-recorded efforts offer a diverse buffet of powerpop, tongue-in-cheek rockers, jazzy interludes, and freak folk, with a healthy portion of sticky hooks. If chef Rosenberg's recordings tend toward the lower end of the fidelity grill, his taste for seasoned playing and neo-traditionalist composition surely balances the palette. 2015's The Minor Sea was a beach-themed allegorical song-cycle which Nashville Scene said "took psychedelic surf rock to a new, modernized level." Quichenight have a new album called Dork In The Dark, out on cassette on Burger Records on Nov. 15th. Brett and band will join us for a free, all ages performance at Grimey's on Monday, December 2nd, at 6PM.
