John Paul White has a new album out April 12th called The Hurting Kind. We're excited to announce that he'll perform an acoustic set at Grimey's on Tuesday, March 26th, at 6PM! To make sure you get in for this intimate live performance, we'll begin taking preorders for the new record starting Thursday, March 7th, at 10AM. With each preorder, you'll receive a wristband guaranteeing you get in for the performance. All customers who preorder The Hurting Kind will also receive a limited edition poster which you'll be able to get signed after the performance on March 26th. You must have a wristband to go through the signing line. We are taking preorders in person at Grimey's through the weekend. The Hurting Kind, White’s third solo record, follows The Long Goodbye and Beulah. His music has drawn audiences deep, with fans of indie rock, folk, and Americana, now able, once again, to get together under one (vaulted) roof here at the record shop to enjoy his songcraft. The Hurting Kind pulls from “the lush, orchestrated” sound prevalent in Nashville’s country music from decades past but still has an urgency in contemplating such matters as “overwhelming love, unraveling relationships, or the fading memory of a loved one.”

Since the album is released in mid-April, we will not have stock available at the in-store on March 26th. You will receive a special, limited edition poster at the in-store to get signed by John Paul White. He will also sign copies of his other solo LPs.
