Amyl & the Sniffers - Cartoon Darkness CD/LP (Virgin)

Recorded with producer Nick Launay at Foo Fighters' 606 Studios in Los Angeles, on the same desk that captured Nirvana's Nevermind and Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, the latest Amyl and The Sniffers album is their most diverse yet. It stretches from classic punk to the glammy strut of hit single "U Should Not Be Doing That" to the stormy balladry of "Big Dreams" to pugnacious punk of "Jerkin." The Sniffers are back and back with a vengeance - bigger, brighter, smarter and sharper in every way. [Indie exclusive "Doing In Me Lungs" smoke vinyl pressing.]

Felicia Atkinson - Space as an Instrument LP (Shelter Press)

We are guided through Space As An Instrument by the piano, it's a linear story told through restrained, iterative melodies that become entwined with the sounds at the music's margins - a wisp of electronics, a pinprick of an enunciated consonant. They were recorded on Atkinson's phone, which was placed next to the keys, or behind her, with the sound of the room bleeding through to give a sense of the place and time of the encounter. She describes these sessions as meetings where she and the piano commune to co-create these spiraling phrases and vaporous dissonances moment by moment.

Badbadnotgood - Mid Spiral CD/2LP (XL)

The Mid Spiral suites see BadBadNotGood return to their roots of instrumental jazz while once again pushing the boundaries of how they cross pollinate genres, incorporating their love of hip-hop, neo-soul, psychedelic, funk and more. For the sessions, the trio incorporated additional musicians to add more voices of instrumentation, resulting in a deeply collaborative and expansive new sound. As the trio sifted through the weeks' worth of material, it was clear that three distinct moods emerged, a deeper reflection of where the musicians are within their own personal lives, along with the state of the wider world: Chaos, Order and Growth.

Kelsea Ballerini - Patterns 2LP (Black River Ent.)

PATTERNS is the 15-song follow-up to Kelsea Ballerini's GRAMMY-nominated ROLLING UP THE WELCOME MAT. Again teaming with producer/songwriter Alysa Vanderheym, the 30-year-old multiple Country Music Association award winner has delivered a song cycle that embodies the next chapter in a life completely embraced. Beyond her "Cowboys Cry Too" duet with Alternative sensation Noah Kahan, she explores what it means to move on, fall in love, stay in love, hate love, exhale love - and face her own patterns, good and bad. Written with Vanderheym, Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee Hillary Lindsey, Songwriter of the Year GRAMMY nominee Jessie Jo Dillon and Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild, Welcome Mat's vulnerable intimacy is met with some of the most intoxicating melodies that reach across genres. Atmospheric, sunny, rhythmic and whispered, PATTERNS balances self-discovery with an album one can blissfully surrender to. [Ride Into the Sunset colored vinyl.]

Bastille - & 2LP (Republic)

Bastille's fifth studio album '&' is a collection of story songs, including "Intros & Narrators," and "Blue Sky & The Painter." Dan Smith says of the release, "I've always loved writing story songs and using tales of other people as a way into making music and talking about my experiences in life. Over the last few years, I've been working on a whole load of songs about people who I think are fascinating and whose lives really spoke to me." Gatefold jacket with artwork created by Theo Hersey and Dan Smith. [Indie exclusive coke bottle clear vinyl.]

Better Lovers - Highly Irresponsible CD (Sharptone Records)

A group of tried-and-true musicians got together and found the sort of camaraderie and kinship you typically only find once in a lifetime. They didn't overthink it. They didn't waste a second. They simply left their blood, sweat, and tears on tape-like they've always done. For as much as Better Lovers represents the union of former Every Time I Die members Jordan Buckley [guitar], Steve Micciche [bass], and Clayton "Goose" Holyoak [drums] with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Killer Be Killed frontman Greg Puciato [vocals], and musician (Fit For An Autopsy/END) and GRAMMY® Award-winning producer, Will Putney [guitar], it really cements the bond of five friends around a shared vision.

James Blake & Lil Yachty - Bad Cameo LP (Quality Control)

Esteemed hip-hop artist Lil Yachty teams up with James Blake to release their first collaborative alternative album titled Bad Cameo. [Indie exclusive magenta vinyl.]

Grayson Capps - Heartbreak, Misery & Death CD/LP (Royal Potato)

The seventh studio album by beloved Alabama-based troubadour Grayson Capps. For this latest effort, Capps—joined by his long-standing guitarist Corky Hughes— turned his attention to 16 long-lost folk songs and traditionals originally written and performed by artists ranging from Doc Watson and Jerry Jeff Walker to Randy Newman and Gordon Lightfoot. Introduced to these timeless touchstones as a child by his father, they'd catalyze Capps' love for music at a young age, while informing the Southern Gothic vernacular that he went on to so eloquently explore and reimagine in his own body of work.

Carver Commodore - Carver LP (Well Kept Secret)

Alabama probably isn’t the first place music critics think of when they recall the indie rock greats, but this left-of-centeredness is what gives Carver Commodore an intriguing edge. CARVER clearly draws on inspiration from greats like The Strokes and contemporaries like Wallows, but does it with just enough distance from the NYC scene that you can tell there’s something different behind these songs, even if you can’t place what. [Clear with pink splatter vinyl.]

Clairo - Juna / Terrapin 7" (Big Crown)

Limited edition 7" featuring two songs from Clairo's latest album, Charm.

Avishai Cohen - Ashes to Gold CD (ECM)

Jackson Dean - On the Back of My Dreams 2LP (Big Machine)

Jackson Dean's On The Back of My Dreams is a textured body of work, where each song was derived from a moment of imagination from Dean's mind, giving listeners a look into the depth of his artistry. Already one of Nashville's most intriguing artists with his strong gravel-tone vocals, wayward spirit, intentional songwriting and overall mystique, Dean embarks on an impressive new chapter, delivering an aspirational and captivating vocal performance that is striking with both swagger and intellect. [Mystic smoke color vinyl.]

Christian Dillingham - Halcyon CD (Greenleaf Music)

The bassist's second album, featuring six original works by Dillingham, plus works by Gillian Welch, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, and Bob Dylan.

[Limited edition evergreen vinyl.]

Elke - Divine Urge LP (Congrats)

Co-produced by Elke (Kayla Graninger) and her close friend Jake McMullen, her debut album seamlessly folds in her myriad of influences, which span old school doo wop to prog rock to 2000s pop divas. “Insect Song” is punctuated with blasts of punky, breakbeat drums, while “One Fake Sedative” almost veers towards freak folk. Meanwhile, “You Can’t Come With Me” stands out as a hypnagogic ballad, as songs like “Hide in Heaven” feel destined to light up a dance floor. Lead single “Enchanté” earns its title with an earworm dance-punk bassline that punctuates Elke’s spoken words, before the track bursts into a dazzling coda that feels like the sonic equivalent of watching a meteor shower.

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) 2LP

In this riveting journey throughout his 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce), Eminem delves into uncharted territories, exploring the demise and rebirth of his iconic alter ego. The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce) is a bold and groundbreaking chapter in Eminem's discography that will not let any Stans down in the slightest. [Limited edition red and blue vinyl pressing.]

Fit for an Autopsy - The Nothing That Is CD/LP/cassette (Nuclear Blast)

The Nothing That Is, Fit For An Autopsy's seventh and latest album (and third for Nuclear Blast), bears no sign whatsoever of commercial concession or rehashed past glories. Instead, the ten-song album finds the band exploring moodier textures and deeper emotions that add new power and dynamics to their already brutal and complex music, while also completely tuning out the ambient noise of passing musical trends and the expectations of the outside world. [Indie exclusive pink swirl vinyl.]

Flat Black - Dark Side of the Brain 2LP (Fearless)

Guitarist Jason Hook is storming out of the gates with his new band Flat Black. The former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist has recruited a trio of young and talented turks and are ready to release their debut album. DARK SIDE OF THE BRAIN was produced by Hook and recorded at the Hideout Studios as well as his home studio, both in Las Vegas. Despite having reached a commercial summit with his prior band, thanks to multiple platinum certifications, sold-out arena shows, and a string of No. 1 singles, Hook remains as hungry for musical blood and thunder as the day he first picked up a guitar at the age of 6.

Flock - Flock II LP (Strut)

Flock's second album, 'Flock II', marks their highly anticipated return to the music scene, showcasing the collaborative talents of Bex Burch, Sarathy Korwar, Tamar Osborn, Danalogue, and Al MacSween. The album was recorded in a unique setting, the Druidstone in West Wales, where the group employed innovative "jump-off" devices for each musical piece, incorporating unconventional structures and atmospheres.

Ben Folds - Sleigher CD/LP (New West)

"Christmas is constant," says Ben Folds. "Allowing you to take stock of what's different, to understand who you are and all the ways you've grown and changed." That notion lies at the heart of Folds' brilliantly titled new holiday collection, Sleigher. Built on an eclectic mix of originals and reimagined classics, the album examines the passage of time through the lens of Christmas, reflecting on memory, loss, and longing as it explores the variety of ways the yuletide season marks the chapters of our lives. The songs are playful here, full of humor and cheer, but they're also laced with an inescapable sense of melancholy, a looming darkness that always seems to hover around the periphery of those late December nights. [Indie exclusive signed CD and signed green vinyl.]

The Fray - The Fray is Back CD (The Fray)

Co-produced by The Fray with Andrew DeRoberts (Fitz and the Tantrums, Zac Brown Band), Ryan Linvill (Conan Gray, Chappell Roan), and Joe London (Thomas Rhett, Bailey Zimmerman), this new six-song effort ultimately echoes the newly revitalized creative energy the band brought to each track. "Before our hiatus there was a sense that we didn't need to fix what wasn't broken, so we weren't necessarily adding new fuel to the fire," says Wysocki. "This time we were working in a completely new way where we allowed ourselves a lot more freedom, and it felt so fun and empowering-almost like a collaborative art project, which is really what this band has always been."

Gaerea - Coma CD (Season of Mist)

When Gaerea emerged out of pandemic limbo, the masked band came branded with a vision of black metal that was guided not by myths or pagan beliefs but a purging of emotion. The world quickly came to share that vision, following them from the gates of Hellfest to tours through China and the U.S. - But with Coma, Gaerea are no longer strictly black metal. Though once again produced by their trusted confidant Miguel Tereso, their fourth album broadens their signature sound by taking it in two seemingly opposed directions. There are more moments of intense beauty, but they only heighten the ensuing blows.

Katie Gavin - What a Relief CD/LP

The debut album from Katie Gavin (of MUNA), What A Relief, taps into the unguarded self-possession and homespun pop sensibility of singers like Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple and Ani DiFranco, and uses their tenacity as a north star for Gavin's own trek towards self-discovery. "This record spans a lot of my life - it's about having a really deep desire for connection, but also encountering all the obstacles that stood in my way to be able to achieve that, patterns of isolation or even boredom with the real work of love" they say. Written over the course of seven years, What A Relief comprises a set of songs that Gavin always loved but which "had something in them" that she and her bandmates felt didn't quite fit within the universe they were trying to cultivate with MUNA. [Limited edition olive colored vinyl.]

Gravel Springs - Crow's Nest Meditations LP (Single Lock Records)

Luther Dickinson, 10-time Grammy nominated North Mississippi All Star, joins up with noted Bay Area mensch David Katznelson to chase the spirits and get weird. Trust us when we say this: World Boogie is Coming.

Riley Green - Don't Mind If I Do 2LP (Nashville Harbor)

With his third studio album, Don't Mind If I Do, Riley Green delivers more of the signature sound fans can't get enough of. Continuing down the path he set forth with Ain't My Last Rodeo, Green leans even further in pulling inspiration from his small-town life in rural Alabama to deliver an honest, relatable 18-track set. Currently on an incredible hot streak, Green's well-earned confidence in his work shines through with five of the tracks being solely written including standout, "Don't Mind If I Do." [Silverstone color vinyl.]

Halsey - The Great Impersonator CD/2LP (Columbia)

Halsey's fifth studio album. In this confessional concept album, Halsey explores who she would be as an artist and a person if she existed throughout different decades.

Two years on from her critically acclaimed covers album, 'A Tribute To Led Zeppelin', Beth returns to form with arguably her best album to date. Featuring guest appearances from guitar legends Slash, and Eric Gales, 'You Still Got Me' is yet another hit in Beth Hart's world-famous discography.

Amythyst Kiah - Still + Bright CD/LP (Rounder)

Still + Bright finds Amythyst Kiah exploring the vast expanse of her inner world. Produced by Butch Walker and featuring songs with Billy Strings, SG Goodman, and Avi Kaplan, Kiah offers a darkly cinematic twist with her third album. With its sonic palette encompassing everything from fuzzed-out guitars and industrial-leaning beats to gilded pedal steel and Kiah's exquisitely graceful banjo work, Still + Bright fully affirms her as an artist of both daring originality and uncompromising depth. [Translucent forest green vinyl pressing.]

Kublai Khan TX - Exhibition of Prowess CD/LP (Rise Records)

Texas hardcore behemoths Kublai Khan Tx return with their brand-new album, Exhibition Of Prowess. Featuring singles "Theory Of Mind," "Low Tech" and "Supreme Ruler," the album sees the band at their brutal, pummeling best. Hot off a sold-out US tour in the spring of 2024, Kublai Khan Tx will be supporting death metal sensations Lorna Shore in the US in the fall. They also have sold out headline tours of the UK, EU and Australia lined up in support of the album. [Limited blue/black/gray colored vinyl.]

Little Moon - Dear Divine LP (Joyful Noise Records)

As the singer-songwriter behind Little Moon, the Tiny Desk Contest-winning, Utah-based avant-folk project, Hardyman uses music as an outlet to illuminate contradictions of all kinds. Following the release of her 2020 debut LP Unphased, Hardyman set out to write a romantic album about her newlywed husband Nathan (who also sings and plays guitar in Little Moon), but the universe had other plans. After Nathan's mother tragically passed away, Hardyman recalibrated her vision and started work on a love-as-grief, grief-as-love album titled Dear Divine. The record serves as a mirror for the darkest parts of ourselves, allowing us to examine our ego-not to dismantle it, but to better understand how we love, process adversity and move through the world. Centering the classical music, folk, video game soundtracks and Tabernacle Choir hymns she grew up with, as well as ephemeral snapshots of personal significance, Dear Divine is an abundant tapestry of Hardyman's life. [Moon white vinyl pressing.]

Living Gate - Suffer as One CD/LP (Relapse)

The debut album from the band of Aaron Rieseberg (YOB), Lennart Bossu (Oathbreaker, Amenra), Wim Coppers (Oathbreaker, Wiegedood), and Levy Seynaeve (Wiegedood). A follow up to the Deathlust EP and the Internal Decomposition single, Living Gate's thesis statement is now bold and clear: old school, heavier-than-anything-ever Death Metal is here to stay. Suffer as One exemplifies all of the strengths of the genre through its sheer ferocity. Every moment on Suffer as One feels crucial; riffs, melodies, even vocal phrasings turn on their heads at the drop of a dime, giving way to hellish solos set against technical-meets-bombastic rhythm sections.

Logic - Ultra 85 CD (BMG)

Ultra 85 is known across Logic's fanbase as the album that never was. It has become the Maryland rapper's "Detox." Logic first announced he was working on this album in 2017 and is highly anticipated by his fanbase. Despite his many acclaimed projects since then, Logic's fanbase, The Rattpack have not been able to let go of the coveted album they were once promised. But no one can prepare them for the Summer of '24.

Lone Justice - Viva Lone Justice LP (Afar)

From the band who invented Alt-Country, 'Viva Lone Justice' is the first album to be released by Lone Justice in nearly 40 years. Featuring original band members Maria McKee, Ryan Hedgecock, Marvin Etzioni and Don Heffington. Special guests include string arranger Tammy Rogers, multi-horn player David Ralicke, Greg Leisz on steel guitar and Benmont Tench on piano. The opening track, 'You Possess Me', puts McKee up front and center, backed only by a string and mandolin quartet. 'Rattlesnake Mama' was once a thrashing electric staple in their 1983 live set - this version, however, is all acoustic with Hedgecock on rhythm auto-harp, and features Tammy Rogers on fiddle. Later, they screech through a blistering cover of 'Teenage Kicks' (the 1978 single by The Undertones).

Lunar Vacation - Everything Matters, Everything's Fire LP (Keeled Scales)

Everything’s Fire, whose title, taken from the concluding track “You Shouldn’t Be,” is a thesis statement. While Lunar Vacation’s last album, 2021’s Inside Every Fig is a Dead Wasp, happily bathed in the waters of indie pop, their latest effort is exploratory, a product of many hours shared experimenting in a living room together. Inspired by prolific shapeshifters like Yo La Tengo and Björk, Everything Matters, Everything’s Fire adopts an ethos that every idea has the potential to be a good one. “Our last album was super produced, manicured,” guitarist/ vocalist Maggie Geeslin says. “This one’s organic. We embraced mistakes; it made the work even better.” In other words: everything matters, everything’s fire. [Fire red vinyl pressing.]

Laura Marling - Patterns in Repeat CD/LP (Chrysalis)

Grammy nominated Laura Marling is back with her eighth studio album Patterns in Repeat. Now eight albums and 15 years into her career as one of the most acclaimed, prolific and respected songwriters of her generation (Grammy and Mercury Nominated and Brit award winning) Patterns in Repeat was written following the birth of her daughter in 2023 and finds Laura reflecting on her motherhood experience as well as more broadly diving deeper into her reckoning with the ideas and behaviours we pass down through family over generations. [Cream color vinyl pressing.]

Naked Roommate - Pass the Loofah LP (Trouble in Mind)

Recorded by members Andy Jordan & Mig Zamora from 2021-2023 as time & restrictions allowed, "Pass The Loofah" retains the wild energy of their debut, but leans into the rhythmic throbs perpetuated by forbears like Kid Creole & The Coconuts, Lizzy Mercier Descloux & ESG; the signature sound of UK's On-U Sound & NYC's 99 Records, but with a decidedly West Coast irreverence & a knack for absurdist exposition. Make no mistake, this is music designed to make your body MOVE & Naked Roommate won't stop until they've made sure every ass is shook.

Nap Eyes - The Neon Gate LP (Paradise of Bachelors)

Nap Eyes' metamorphic fifth long-player collects a cache of nine fascinating songs recorded over the four years since Snapshot of a Beginner. The Neon Gate reveals classic touchstones (the uneasy interplay of physics and philosophy, perambulatory meditations, self-interrogating soliloquies, apertures of surreality, video games), but also evidence of divergent impulses toward nonlinear abstraction and longform improvisational composition (resulting in their most discursive, deconstructed, and deliquescent songs to date) and narrative and lyric formality (including adaptations of thorny poems by Alexander Pushkin and W. B. Yeats), imparting the sense that Nap Eyes have transmuted, as has their understanding of what a song is, what it can do, where it might go.

Oak Ridge Boys - Mama's Boys CD/LP (Lightning Rod Records)

The Oak Ridge Boys were asking each other, "Who is the person that first taught us about love, living, friends, God, and the other important things in our lives?" We agreed that would be our mothers. Down deep in our hearts, we all felt we were "mama's boys. In this album, there are heartfelt songs, spiritual songs, memories of growing up, songs about being taught life's lessons, and fun songs about eating way too much of mama's home cookin'. We all had a great time singing about the things that mama taught us.

Tess Parks - Pomegranate CD/LP

Pomegranate is Tess Parks' third solo album, following her critically-acclaimed return with 2022's And Those Who Were Seen Dancing and earlier collaborations with The Brian Jonestown Massacre's Anton Newcombe. Re-establishing Parks as the consummate artist-observer against a swirling nouveau-delic backdrop, this is her most ambitious, cinematic and dream-like work to date. Produced by close collaborator Ruari Meehan, and co-mixed with Meehan by Mikko Gordon (The Smile, Gaz Coombes, Arcade Fire). [Limited edition clear blue vinyl pressing.]

Peach Pit - Magpie LP (Columbia)

The Vancouver, BC band's fifth album, written and recorded in their hometown. [Indie exclusive clear with white swirl vinyl.]

Pixies - The Night the Zombies Came CD/LP (BMG)

35 years since their groundbreaking platinum-certified album Doolittle catapulted the band into the UK Top Ten, and 20 years since their celebrated reformation at Coachella, Pixies are deep into their second act, and in the midst of a creative purple patch. 13 new songs that find Pixies looking ahead to the most cinematic record of their career. Druidism, apocalyptic shopping malls, mediaeval themed restaurants, 12th century poetic form, surf rock, gargoyles, bog people, and the distinctive dry drum sound of 1970s-era Fleetwood Mac are just some of the disparate wonders that inform the new songs. [Indie exclusive clear with red smoke vinyl pressing.]

A Place to Bury Strangers - Synthesizer CD/LP (Dedstrange)

Synthesizer is the title of A Place to Bury Strangers' seventh album. It is also a physical entity, a synthesizer made specifically for A Place to Bury Strangers' seventh album. Synthesizer is a record that celebrates sounds that are spontaneous and natural, the kind of music that can only come from collaboration and community. It now features a fully collaborative new lineup, with John and Sandra Fedowitz. That spirit of reinvention is all over the record. [Glow in the dark vinyl with functional circuit board synthesizer!]

Pom Pom Squad - Mirror Starts Moving Without Me CD/LP (City Slang)

On Pom Pom Squad's sophomore LP, Mia Berrin traverses the hall of mirrors to celebrate the true self at the heart. The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Stereogum, and many more have lauded the pop-centric return of Brooklyn's favorite rising post-grunge band, led by frontperson Mia Berrin, for their refreshing new chapter. Berrin had a hand in the crafting of this darker and stronger sound, co-producing the record at the legendary Electric Lady Studios. [Indie exclusive blue curacao vinyl pressing.]

Chuck Ragan - Love & Lore CD/LP (Rise Records)

In a musical life that spans close to three decades, Chuck Ragan has consistently worn his heart on his sleeve, and carved out a musical niche in the process. Paul’s label and collective Paul Institute in 2017, Ruthven has carefully mastered the soulful, infectious, R&B influenced sound he has masterfully displayed over six expansive singles. Drawing from both imaginative and autobiographical experiences, he presents his debut album, ‘Rough & Ready’. Led by ‘Thru The Walls’, the conversational love song which calls back to the sensual classics of Prince and D’Angelo, perfectly exemplifies Ruthven’s incredible musicianship and playful yet sincere lyricism.

Leonardo da Vinci is directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and David McMahon. The film, which explores the life and work of the fifteenth century polymath Leonardo da Vinci, is Burns's first non-American subject.

The Detroit-based, Japanese-American musician, DJ, Portage Garage Sounds label co-founder, and longtime Ghostly International artist embraces the role of producer and composer. Bold and cultivated with intention, the band-built sound honors traditions in electronic, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, a fusion that's become his signature, now more vibrant than ever. Devin Townsend's career is one of many distinct eras. He's been the leader of Strapping Young Lad, the lynchpin of the Devin Townsend Project and the co-architect of country duo Casualties of Cool, all while maintaining his prolific and lauded solo project. Now, the polymath's newest era starts with PowerNerd: a succinct but still progressive record that pulls from it's mastermind's childhood love of vintage rock. From the moment the title track ignites the record with a roar of "PowerNerd!", Devin's 28th studio project is a gallop of melody, noise and emotion.

Trauma Ray - Chameleon LP (Dais Records)

Since first bonding over Slowdive at a Texas karaoke bar six years ago, musicians Uriel Avila and Jonathan Perez have grown Trauma Ray into Fort Worth's foremost flag bearer of crushing shoegaze. A five-piece rounded out by bassist Darren Baun, drummer Nicholas Bobotas, and guitarist Coleman Pruitt, the band's debut album, 'Chameleon', captures their evolving sound at an apex of majestic devastation. A fusion of downer hooks, gauzy melancholia, and bulldozer riffs, the album heaves and crashes across 50 minutes of stacked amplifier alchemy. Lyrically the songs trace similarly lofty and brooding terrain; Avila says "The theme is death. And a chameleon, like death, can shape-shift in and out our lives in different forms." [Mint green vinyl pressing.]

Bratmobile - Pottymouth CD/LP

Bratmobile - Ladies, Women and Girls LP

Bratmobile - Girls Get Busy LP

Reissues of the riot grrrl band's three full-length albums. Along with Bikini Kill, Bratmobile spearheaded the riot grrrl revolution of the early 1990s, battling the long-standing dominance of men within the punk rock community to help empower a new generation of female musicians and fans. Comprised of singer Allison Wolfe, guitarist Erin Smith, and drummer Molly Neuman, Bratmobile made their debut at 1991’s International Pop Underground convention; after a handful of singles—with members spread out between California, Washington, and Maryland, recording was a logistical nightmare—the trio finally released Pottymouth in 1993. CocoRosie - La Maison de Mon Rêve: 20th anniversary edition LP (Touch & Go)

CocoRosie is Bianca and Sierra Casady. La Maison de Mon Rêve was released by Touch and Go Records in March 2004. La Maison de Mon Réve is deceptively innocent; enchanting and sweet yet eerie and twisted. An acoustic guitar paints melody through a haze of cryptic sounds and perversely angelic voices. A broken radio transmits a music box orchestra. Tiny field mice sing opera. This 20th anniversary edition of CocoRosie's debut album La Maison de Mon Réve is pressed on transparent algae sea vinyl and limited to 1500 copies worldwide. Packaged in a gatefold jacket with never-before-seen photos, the vinyl includes the full album along with a previously unreleased bonus track, "Hairnet Paradise."

Fortunately, the Charly archivists have retrieved and restored the entire live concert, the ONLY performance by the original musicians.

Marilyn Crispell - Amaryllis LP (ECM)

Reissue of the 2001 album. Return of the great American jazz trio that delivered the poll-topping "Nothing Ever Was, Anyway" in 1997. Material heard on "Amaryllis" is by turns thoughtful, touching, joyous and viscerally exciting. Some of the songs are well known – almost classics of new jazz – including Crispell’s "Rounds", Peacock’s "Requiem" and "December Wings, Motian’s "Conception Vessel". There are also a number of startlingly effective free improvised ballads. As leader Marilyn Crispell says, "There’s a great depth of communication, a rare delicacy. " Interaction between the musicians is exceptional.

Crosby Stills Nash & Young - Live at Fillmore East, 1969 CD/2LP (Atlantic)

Live at Fillmore East, 1969 is a newly discovered multi-track recording of the band's September 20, 1969, concert at the historic Fillmore East in New York City captures an early moment from that first tour. Including both Acoustic and Electric sets, as well as hit tracks such as "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes", "Our House", "I've Loved Her So Long", etc. Stephen Stills and Neil Young compiled and mixed the original eight-track concert recordings at Sunset Studios to keep the production entirely analog.

Desmond Dekker - Intensified LP (Beverley's Records)

A wonderful set of rocksteady and early reggae bouncing off the irrepressible reggae rhythms and bounding harmonies of Desmond Dekker and the Aces. The follow-up to their Action! Predecessor, Intensified features the major hits 'Poor Me Israelites' and 'Ah It Mek' which topped the UK & US charts in the late 60s & early/mid 70s. Also featured on the album is the punchy 'Sweet Music', a celebration of those knock-out vocal harmonies, where Dekker is at his best. With the great 'Rude Boy Train', Dekker was a precursor to the 'rude boy' phenomenon, which has since become a mainstay in reggae songs.

Chris Forsyth - Solar Motel LP (Algorithm Free)

Forsyth's first full-band project, originally released in 2013, was considered his most ambitious and sublime work of "Cosmic Americana" to date, and the idea of the Motel also figured into a band where vacancies would open and close. "'Solar Motel' is the first record on which I overtly took rock tropes and twisted them into new shapes, incorporating so many of my interests and influences - the twin-guitar elegance of Television, the sprawl of West Coast psych, the boiled down Rock Minimalism of Rhys Chatham, the abstract tangles of free improv, an undercurrent of ecstatic jazz energy, and the studio textures of Eno/Cale/Roxy '70s art rock." Expanded 2xLP includes two studio outtakes from the original sessions, and a side-long live session recorded at WFMU.

Gang of Four - Songs of the Free LP (Matador)

Head North / Microwave - Split LP (SideOneDummy)

Back in print, on white & purple splatter vinyl! Hailing from Buffalo, NY, Head North has used their indie-influenced pop-punk to break out of the local scene and demand the attention of a national audience. Packing in sentiments as big as their sound, the band hits home with walls of guitar lines, frenetic punk rock drums and an emotional complexity anchored behind their lyrics. Blending elements of post-hardcore, emo and Southern-tinged indie rock, Microwave balance frankness with a penchant for wit, allowing for seemingly standard personal confessions to make a significant and striking impact. While often tipping into the heavier side of resonant punk, the band shines brightest in soft reservation.

Various Artists - Heated Garage: Toasty Treasures from Minnesota's Kay Bank Studio LP (Beatrocket)

Heated Garage is a sonic snapshot of what happened when boundless musical energy and middle American moxie combined to create a cultural phenomenon. The tracks are drawn from a vast archive of Kay Bank master tapes - some are ultra rarities you'd be hard pressed to snatch from the collectors' market without mortgaging a kidney. Others are alternate versions and outtakes never before released in any form!

Susanna Hoffs - The Lost Record CD (Baroque Folk Records)

A collection of unreleased recordings by the Bangles' vocalist / guitarist. Susanna Hoffs is excited to release The Lost Record from her archives, recorded in 1999 with a group of friends in her garage. It contains the original version of "Under a Cloud"-the song was later released by the Bangles in 2011. Written by Hoffs and Dillon O'Brian, "I Will Take Care of You" was recorded by the Bangles, but this is the elegant and raw version she always wanted to release.

House of Pain - Same As It Ever Was: 30th Anniversary LP+7" (Tommy Boy)

The 1994 second album by House of Pain, which followed their massively successful album Fine Malt Lyrics. With this album, Everlast changed his style of rapping considerably and unveiled a much more distinctive and recognizable approach. Sounding twisted, damaged, and maniacal, Everlast grabs the listener's attention and refuses to let go on such wildly entertaining fare as "Back From the Dead," "Over There Shit," and "Runnin' Up on Ya."  Celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year, this reissue contains a bonus 7" of two remixes "On Point."

Today, he is considered to be one of the most important figures in Jamaican music and his influence can be heard in hip-hop, jungle, garage and dubstep. 'Majestic Dub' was first released in 1983 on the British reggae label Star. Recorded at King Tubby's famous Kingston studio, it features performances by legendary reggae session musicians including Sly & Robbie, Noel "Skully" Simms, Uziah "Sticky" Thompson, Jackie Mittoo, Winston Wright, Earl "Chinna" Smith and Willie Lindo.

Juliet Lawson - Boo: The Early Recordings 1971-73 CD/LP+7" (Soul Jazz)

Singer/Songwriter Juliet Lawson’s album, ‘Boo’, was released on the Sovereign label in the UK in 1972. The album was the confident debut of a young British artist and featured twelve of Lawson’s own compositions. In the same wave of early 1970s English singer-songwriters such as Nick Drake, Vashti Bunyan and Christine McVie, and despite being described at the time as ‘Britain’s answer to Joni Mitchell’, ‘Boo’ was to prove her only major label release with limited commercial success. Over the next 50 years the album’s reputation has slowly grown and is today an expensive and collectible item. ‘Boo’ is presented here in its entirety. This release comes with two additional early demo tracks produced by ex-Yardbirds founder Paul Samwell-Smith, who also produced Carly Simon and Cat Stevens.

Charlie Megira - End of Teenage 2LP (Numero)

The Hebrew surf-grunger returns! End of Teenage captures Charlie Megira's Berlin years with the Bet She'an Valley Hillbillies, shortly before his death. A time-traveling, five-song murder mystery guitar album that owes as much to Dick Dale as it does David Lynch. This expanded 10 year anniversary edition also includes the 11-song demo, where Megira's familiar themes of drive-inn melancholia, beach blanket bongos, and desert drifting are explored in the privacy of his bedroom. Let him whisper in your ear. [Opaque yellow vinyl pressing.]

Microwave - Much Love LP (SideOneDummy)

Purple nebula vinyl reissue of the 2016 album. While the exuberance and joy of Stovall dealt with vocalist/guitarist Nathan Hardy’s wide-eyed wonder at a world previously obscured by a strict religious upbringing and his time as a Mormon missionary – songs of innocence, if you will – Much Love details the aftermath once that awestruck amazement has been dampened by the harsh realities of life. These, then, are songs of experience, the sound of growing pains (with the emphasis very much on the pain), on the trials and tribulations that come after the euphoria of freedom.

Motorhead - We Take No Prisoners 2CD/9x7" (BMG)

We Take No Prisoners is a collection of Motorhead's singles spanning 1995 to 2006. From crowd pleasers like the pummeling, "Sacrifice," through their unique cover of Sex Pistols, "God Save The Queen," to the semi-acoustic roots vibe of, "Whorehouse Blues," no one could deny their songwriting prowess was still second to none. With a selection of rare live tracks and radio edits thrown in for good measure, plus a long-lost promo interview with Lemmy and Mikkey Dee from 2004, this is a definitive collection of this era of the band and the songs that drove the success of the albums they were lifted from. Limited edition 7" box set edition includes nine 7" singles with printed sleeves.

Various Artists - On the Scene with Guy Stevens LP (Charly Records)

During the early 60s, the insatiable appetite in Britain for American rhythm & blues music among a growing coterie of young musicians, modernists and other such hip kids was mostly being ignored by the major record companies. Enter Guy Stevens, whose crusade to popularise rhythm & blues would shortly encompass not only his stint as DJ at London’s hottest R&B-oriented club, but his pioneering work as consultant to major UK record labels (resulting in big-selling hits), his own record import business, and, icing on the cake, his own record imprint – the legendary Sue label. Those several facets of Guy’s career have inspired the contents of this album – a collection of wondrous black music with a decade- spanning vitality that still excites, is still rivetingly authentic, still heartfelt. Some are now well-known, others so obscure that this is their first-ever reissue on any format – but at the time that Guy introduced them to his audience, all were a revelation.

Ralfi Pagan - Ralfi Pagan LP (Craft Recordings)

Singer-songwriter Ralfi Pagan’s 1969 debut self-titled album on Fania Records is a Latin soul classic. It swings freely from R&B to salsa, with tenor-flavored grooves like “Who Is the Girl for Me” and “Don’t Stop Now” and Spanish ballads like “No Soy De Ti” and “El Hijo de Mamá.” Ralfi’s songs are R&B with Nuyorican flavor, making him known for his funky Latin soul vibe.

Charlie Parker - Bird in Kansas City LP (Verve)

This new set of rare Charlie Parker recordings dating from between 1941-1951, most of them never having been heard before and some never even having been known to exist, chronicle Bird's evolution from a blossoming soloist with the Jay McShann Band into a brilliant improviser who dominated the jazz landscape for decades to come. In addition to two unreleased 78s with the McShann band, this set offers two sets of private recordings made with local musicians and a very relaxed-sounding Parker.

Joe Pass - Intercontinental LP (MPS)

Reissue of the jazz guitarist's 1970 album. Since he had a first-class bassist in Eberhard Weber at his side during his June 1970 MPS session in Germany's idyllic Black Forest, Pass could concentrate on playing the melody and the chords. Weber would soon develop his own electric bass, but at this point he was still playing the traditional acoustic contrabass.Third in the group was British drummer Kenny Clare. Pass chose the program for this release, swinging recording, mixing standards with originals.

The Pioneers - Long Shot LP (Beverley's Records)

The Pioneers became one of the first Jamaican acts to achieve international success with their UK hit, "Long Shot (Kick de Bucket)". The success of the single was swiftly followed by what became one of Trojan's biggest selling long players of all time, the aptly titled Long Shot. Showcasing a dozen of the group's best-known works to date for one of reggae's earliest and most successful producers Leslie Kong, the LP features a number of Jamaican hits, including "Samfie Man" and "Black Bud", as well as the best-selling title track.

Porno for Pyros - Pyrotechnics: Porno for Pyros' Latest & Greatest LP (Rhino)

Pressed on multi-coloured vinyl and featuring brand new art, it also includes a brand new remix of "Pets" by Daniel Avery, and three brand new recordings - "Fingernail," "Little Me" and "Agua." [Clear with orange splatter vinyl.]

Posy - The Garden LP (Bastard Jazz)
Emerging from the rainy environs of the Pacific Northwest, Posy makes his full length debut on Bastard Jazz with The Garden, a lush, organic soundscape providing all the tranquility and sonic nourishment the title implies. While tapped into the same well of musical depth that contemporary new jazz artists like Alfa Mist and Shabaka Hutchings draw from, the classically trained Posy approaches things from a different angle, painting detailed miniature portraits that avoid the overt spiritual jazz trappings of many of his contemporaries. “I love what Yussef Dayes and KIEFER are doing,” Posy states, naming a couple peers who’ve inspired him. But while improvisation and a comfortable familiarity with theory may be at the compositional root of the ten tracks here, it’s always in the service to the concise form of songs that say just enough, and nothing more.

Baden Powell - Tristeza on Guitar LP (MPS)

Brazilian guitar maestro Baden Powell’s seminal years with producer Joachim-Ernst Berendt and MPS stretch from 1966 to 1975, with a total of two sets of three LPs. Tristeza On Guitar was the beginning of this nine-year collaboration. The repertoire is in no way characterized by sadness, as the title might cause one to believe. It embraces a sublime spectrum ranging from a ritual feel to exuberant carnival atmosphere on through to intimate songs with a singable quality.

After a couple 7"s and self-released cassettes, Quarterstick Records released the band's first and only full-length Rusty in 1994. The band broke up at the end of the year, aiding their growing cult following. Jason went on to form Rachel's, Jeff started June of 44, and Tara began a solo career after recording with Retsin, and The Sonora Pine. Jason and Jeff later reunited in The Shipping News. Rodan was Quarterstick's indie rock supergroup that spawned numerous other intriguing projects. [Champagne color vinyl pressing.]

What you have here are songs that just happened in real time. The many musicians on these recordings were friends, bandmates, and, at times, total strangers.
