Brit Taylor In-Store Performance & Album Signing

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We hope you can join us for a special In-Store Performance & Album signing by Brit Taylor on Saturday, May 13th at 5:00 PM (aka BEER:30). We’ll be hanging in the shop, drinking cold complimentary Tennessee Brew Works beers, and enjoying the sweet sounds of Ms. Taylor flowing from our stage.

Taylor’s highly revered sophomore album, Kentucky Blue, is a drive down the famed Country Music Highway – Route 23 -- back to her Appalachian roots. The mighty musician & song-writer, Sturgill Simpson, and renowned Nashville engineer & producer David “Fergie” Ferguson caught wind of Taylor after her self-reflective debut album, Real Me, garnered praise from Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, and NPR’s World Café.  Those two didn’t hesitate to jump in and get their hands dirty, producing the next musical chapter of Brit’s life story. Kentucky Blue is available on vinyl & CD now via Brit’s own Cut A Shine Records, released in collaboration with Nashville based Thirty Tigers. Copies are available on our site now as well as in the record shop.

Kentucky Blue is a musical celebration of Taylor’s healing and rebirth, and it is a shift back to her East Kentucky influences, featuring fiddle, steel guitar, twangy banjo and an atmospheric string section. Taylor continues to unabashedly write and sing about what she lives and what she knows and sees. Kentucky Blue is her personal invitation to join her at her cabin in the woods for a bourbon, a swing on the porch and a story-telling song.

Please consider this our invitation to join us for Taylor’s intimate performance in the record store, where we plan to revel in the bluegrass twinged magic that she spins in her songs. This is a free & all ages affair, so come one, come all! Space is limited—first come, first served. (Complimentary Tennessee Brew Works beer will be served at our event and it is available to those 21+ with valid ID.)

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend our Brit Taylor In-store performance.
