Hey GBV heads, we're hosting a listening party for the new album Sweating The Plague this Thursday, October 24th, at 7PM, and it will be hosted by none other than band member Bobby Bare Jr! As you well know, Robert Pollard and his merry men are on a hot streak, one of the hottest tears of their entire 35 year history! Already this year Guided By Voices have released the epic, heavy and rockin' Zeppelin Over China and the tight and concise pure pop masterpiece that is Warp & Woof. Now they are treating us to Sweating The Plague, an album that promises the full realization of Uncle Bob's beloved four P's (pop, punk, psych, prog) over 12 tracks gleaming with goodness. Rhythm guitarist extraordinaire Bobby Bare Jr will bring a couple of cases of beer and a test pressing of the new record, signed by Bob! We'll spin that sucker on the turntable, marvel at the wonder of it all while hoisting cold brews and one lucky attendee will take home the prize - an autographed test pressing of Sweating The Plague signed by Robert Pollard.
