Icon For Hire Acoustic Instore Performance & Record Release Celebration

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

Icon For Hire have a new album out Friday, September 30th, called The Reckoning and they will rock the Grimey’s stage that day at 12:00 PM with an acoustic, in-store performance to celebrate! The band will sign copies of the new album following the performance.

Following up on the Rock Sound and Kerrang! supported album Amorphous, Icon for Hire introduced The Reckoning, with the bruising single “Ready For Combat”. Described by Rock Sound as "a bold and belligerent piece of hard rock chaos", the track, alongside its high-powered music video, perfectly depict the harder-edged sound and aesthetic of the upcoming album, in the band's own words; "grittier, louder, larger". Talking about the album Icon for Hire say; The Reckoning isn't just about exploring all the dark and heavy pieces of ourselves, it's about embracing and accepting those pieces, and using them as weapons against the gatekeepers that hold us back, even when those gatekeepers are our own self-imposed limitations." Featuring collaborations with Keith Wallen of Breaking Benjamin and mixing by Joe Rickard of In Flames and Red, the album boasts Ariel's fiercest vocals to date, and Shawn's signature in-your-face guitar style.

We hope you’ll join us for this free, all ages live performance. We’ll have copies of The Reckoning on indie exclusive silver vinyl and limited edition deluxe CD with 36-page booklet and embossed hot foil sleeve.

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend Icon For Hire’s instore performance.
