Please join us for a special in-store performance with singer, song-writer & guitarist Joy Oladokun on Thursday, May 4th! We’ve been fans of Joy and her music for quite some time and are thrilled that we’re able to host her for an intimate performance in the record store. Her new album, Proof of LIfe, is out now via Republic Records, and those who purchase the album in the shop or via our site here will receive a wristband for her post-performance signing that also guarantees access to our event. Wristbands are required for Joy’s album signing, however folks 12 & under don’t need one, as long as they are with a person who has a wristband. Space for our event is limited and wristbands guarantee entrance.
Joy has been a part of our music community for just over six years, moving to Nashville after time spent on the West Coast. She’s been busy since relocating to Music City, performing at the White House for the signing ceremony for the Respect for Marriage Act; touring with John Mayer, My Morning Jacket and Maren Morris; and collaborating with Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell and Chris Stapleton, amongst others. Previously she’s released a couple of albums and EPs but Proof of Life is her first full-length to be released on both CD and vinyl. We’re so happy that we’re able to celebrate her new record with her and hope you’ll be able to join us for this Joyful occasion!
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend Joy Oladokun’s record release celebration.
