Katie Pruitt is a Nashville transplant from the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia. Although Pruitt hasn't strayed far her southern roots, she is far from a southern belle. The young songwriter expresses herself openly and honestly and doesn't care that she might offend you while she does it. Pruitt tends to tackle, what some would consider, controversial topics such as the questioning of religion, battling mental health issues, and contemporary love songs about a same sex relationship. Her passionate delivery and powerful message are the reason her name has begun to buzz around Nashville. Katie Pruitt will release Expectations, her debut album for Rounder Records, on Friday, February 21st. It's a coming-of-age album that pulls from pop, Americana, rock, and folk, while delivering messages of resilience and the idea of embracing what makes you unique. Katie Pruitt will perform songs from her new album at Grimey's on Saturday, February 22nd, the day after it's released, at 5PM. You can preorder Expectations now on vinyl or CD for your wristband to go through the signing line following the performance, meet Katie, and get your album signed! Katie Pruitt will play a show at The Basement the night before her in-store, on Friday, February 21st.

We love having a ton of folks join us for in-store performances but we only have limited parking available on-site.  Please consider ride sharing, car pooling, biking, walking, riding a scooter, or parking at the inexpensive pay lot behind Walden Bar and Mickey's Tavern on Gallatin Road (it's a very short walk from the shop).  Limited parking is also available on the residential streets near the shop, but please be mindful to not block driveways or the roadway when parking, as many of these roads are narrow and become impassable when cars line both sides of the street.  We love our neighbors too and hope to keep them happy (and really don't want them to have to call the police about parking issues.)
