Oh boy are we super stoked to announce that Lilly Hiatt will play a free live set at Grimey's on the day her new album is released - Friday, March 27th, at 6PM! The new album is called Walking Proof and its cover art is also the latest mural to adorn the Grimey's building, painted by Kim Radford, who also designed the album cover. Preorder Walking Proof now on indie-exclusive turquoise vinyl or CD for your wristband to go through the signing line following the performance and get your album autographed! You can place your preorder online or in person at Grimey's. A wristband also guarantees you entry in the event that we sell to capacity with preorders.

Walking Proof, Hiatt's fourth and most probing collection to date, was produced by former Cage the Elephant guitarist Lincoln Parish. The record walks the line between Hiatt's rough, rock and roll exterior and her tender, country roots, exuding a bold vulnerability as she takes a deep and unflinching look in the mirror. What emerges is a newfound maturity in Hiatt's writing, an abiding sense of calm in the face of chaos as she learns that sometimes, you have to let go in order to get what you want most. By the time she headed into Parish's Nashville studio in May, Hiatt had piled up more than twenty-five new songs, and with the producer's help, she pared it down to a tight and cohesive eleven. After capturing the core performances live with her band over the course of roughly a week, Hiatt devoted the early part of the summer to finishing touches, which included contributions from friends like Amanda Shires and Aaron Lee Tasjan along with a guest appearance from her father, legendary songwriter John Hiatt, who joins his daughter on record for the first time here.

Lilly Hiatt will also be playing at The Basement East on Saturday, April 18th, and we've got several pairs of tickets to give away to that show. You can enter by participating in our selfie contest on social media. Stop by the shop between Wednesday, 2/26, and Wednesday, 3/11, and take a selfie with the Lilly Hiatt mural and post your pic on social media (Instagram, Twitter or Facebook) using the tag #LillyatGrimeys for your chance to win a pair of tickets to her show on 4/18 at The Basement East.
