Maisy Owen Performance & Dark On A Sunny Day Record Release Celebration + BEER:300

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We’re stoked to be on the front end of introducing the world to the artistry of Maisy Owen, a gifted singer-songwriter who is making waves with a new single and upcoming album release.

A Nashville native, Owen has been surrounded by music and the art of songcraft just about her whole life. First came the viola at the age of 9, then guitar, where she embraced fingerpicking while soaking in influences from Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, Mazzy Star and David Olney. Raised in a musical family, Maisy's father is Gwil Owen, an Academy Award-nominated songwriter and longtime staple of the Nashville music scene.

Maisy’s unique sound, musical truth and stirring vocals inhabit Dark On A Sunny Day, her debut album, produced by Robin Eaton and due out May 1st on Tompkins Square Records. Drawn to melancholic melodies and dark poetic imagery, her first single “My Youth Is All For You” was released as a 7” and hit streaming services in October of 2025, spreading the buzz far and wide. You can preorder Dark On A Sunny Day on our site here now.

Maisy Owen will join us the day after her debut album drops for an in-store performance on Saturday, May 2nd, at 4PM, during BEER:30! We’ll have plenty of copies of Dark On A Sunny Day on hand and free beer for those 21+ with I.D. We hope you’ll join us for this free, all ages in-store event.

A note on BEER:30 events—Maisy Owen’s performance and recored release celebration coincides with our weekly BEER:30 hang, so we’ll be offering free Tennessee Brew Works beers to those 21+ (with valid IDs). Beer is complimentary but we are collecting cash tips to be donated to support the good works of the folks at DRKMTTR, Nashville's enduring all-ages space, that thrives as a hub for connectivity and creative collaboration. Beyond being a music venue, DRKMTTR stands as a nexus of resilience, cultivating a dynamic community where the DIY ethos transforms into collective action. Through cross-pollination initiatives, DRKMTTR links artists, organizes communities & the under-21 crowd, and as a 501-C3 non-profit, they seek the backing necessary to perpetuate their pivotal role and create a lasting influence.
