twen Instore Performance!

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We’re so pleased to announce our upcoming in-store performance with one of our favorite Nashville-based bands, twen! They’ll be playing a free & all ages set in the shop on Wednesday, September 21st at 5:00 PM, featuring songs from their brand new, self-released, One Stop Shop.

In an age of mediocre songs with pristine studio-production, One Stop Shop provides an antidote with 10 hook-laden compositions, chock-full of purposeful, inspired rock songs about modern life in 2022. The songs are beautifully evocative, political without patronizing or pandering, and widespread in their diversity of sounds & emotions. Title track “One Stop Shop (For A Fading Revolution)” is a propulsive overture for the end times, while lead single “HaHaHome” is an ode to brit-pop with a Stone-Roses-esque bassline that could even make Paul McCartney jealous. “Brooklyn Bridge” showcases the duo’s ability to craft metaphorically complex lyrics that are simultaneously immediate because of the heartfelt prosody of Jane Fitzsimmons’ vocals- vocals that until now, would’ve seemed out of twen’s former wheelhouse as “indie-psych-rockers”. It’s a fun album and it’s going to be super fun to hear these songs played live in the record shop. We hope you’ll be able to join us for this fun occasion! Since this is a free and all ages affair, come one, come all! Bring your pal, your neighbor, your kid, or your parent and enjoy!

Copies of One Stop Shop are available now on limited edition Seaglass Blue colored vinyl in the record store and on our webstore here.

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend twen’s instore performance.
