Please join us for a rare Sunday in-store performance on September 18th at 1:00 pm when we have the honor of hosting The Paranoyds in the record shop! They’re playing this free & all ages set to help spread the word about their upcoming concert at Soft Junk on Wednesday, September 21st. They’re out on the road in support of Talk Talk Talk, their new record. It’s their sophomore full-length and their first release for Third Man Records. We have copies of the ‘Cosmic Purple’ vinyl in the shop and will have some at their performance or you can go ahead and order it on our site now and pick it up at the in-store. We’re really pumped for this and hope to see some friends for some Sunday fun in the record store.
The Paranoyds are Southern California DIY rock royalty. Fueled by the fiery energy of their live shows paired with raw lyricism and subtle societal commentary, The Paranoyds are unafraid and unapologetically in perpetual pursuit of a good time. The four-piece is made up of Laila Hashemi (keyboardist-vocals), Lexi Funston (guitars/vocals), Staz Lindes (bass/vocals) and David Ruiz (drums, vocals) who together masterfully blend light-hearted playfulness with sharp sincerity over fuzzy guitar, dreamy vocals and punchy, punky rock-n-roll. You can check out the video for their latest single “Freak Out” on YouTube here.
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend The Paranoyd’s in-store performance.
