Due to an overwhelming response to our preorder & the massive popularity of Tyler Childers, our special preorder + wristband promotion is now SOLD OUT!
Holy smokes, y’all! We are thrilled to announce that Tyler Childers will be celebrating the release of his new album Rustin’ in the Rain at Grimey’s with a special late-night in-store performance & midnight album signing on the eve of the album’s release date! This will be our first after-hours, live performance in a loooooong time and the first time Tyler has graced the stage at our current location, so there’s a lot to be excited about! Earlier this summer we had the privilege of hosting members of Tyler’s band The Food Stamps, for a in-store performance in support of their eponymous debut El Dorodo and wayback in 2017 we hosted Tyler for a solo performance in our old spot—we know we’re in for a real good time!
Space for our event is extremely limited so be sure to preorder a copy of Tyler’s new album, Rustin’ in the Rain, from Grimey’s in our webstore to secure your copy of the vinyl LP or CD + a wristband for our Tyler Childers event. Each album preordered for local pickup comes with a wristband, such that one album preordered = one wristband, two albums preordered = two wristbands, etc. with a limit of four (4) total preorders per customer / household. Space for our event is very limited and wristbands guarantee entrance.* Wristband pick-up is only available in-person at our late-night event on September 7th; albums will be available for pickup at midnight. (Sorry, advanced wristband pickup is not available and wristbands are non-transferable.) *Kids 12 & under attending with wristband-wearing adults do not require wristbands.
Childers hails from Lawrence County, KY and has been working in and around Nashville for years now, cutting his breakthrough record Purgatory at The Sound Emporium with Sturgill Simpson & David Ferguson and playing a month-long residency at the (OG) Basement in 2017. We’ve seen him play all the best spots in town (heck, on September 5th he’s playing The Grand Ole Opry.) and it’s been so awesome to see his star rise as he and the Food Stamps have released fantastic albums and travelled the world, playing sold out shows at The Greek, Red Rocks, and Radio City Music Hall. Childers’ new album contains a stellar lineup of Nashville-based artists, including some of our faves, Margo Price and Erin Rae, S.G. Goodman and The Travelin’ McCourys. We’re honored to be able to be a part of the release of the new album, Rustin’ in the Rain, and to celebrate its arrival in the world with our wonderful music community. This is going to be a super fun time, one for the books, y’all. See you soon, Nashville!
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is a paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. There is a police office who lives in the neighborhood across the street from the store and his driveway has been blocked by event attendees 3 times so far in 2023 (!!!) We do not want anger or disrespect any of our neighbors, especially not that one. DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS OR PARK IN UNAPPROVED ALLEY SPACES or you will be swiftly towed. (This is no fun at all.) Please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend this Grimey’s event.
