We hope you’ll make plans to join us on Friday, September 8th at 5:00 PM for a special in-store performance & album signing by our pal, Allison Russell, as we celebrate the release of her new album, The Returner! She’ll play a short set in the shop to be followed immediately by an album signing. We’re super happy to be able to celebrate The Returner with the return of Allison Russell to the record store! We had the honor of hosting a special virtual in-store performance with Allison around the release of 2021’s Outside Child and are so pumped to celebrate her new record with her and with all of you!! Wristbands are required** to participate in Allison’s signing and are free with preorder of The Returner in the record store or on our site here. Each album preordered for local pickup comes with a wristband, such that one album preordered = one wristband, two albums preordered = two wristbands, etc. Space for our event is limited and a wristband guarantees entrance. (**Kids 12 & under do not require wristbands.)
We’re big fans of Allison Russell here at Grimey’s. We love her music, her songwriting and her voice; we love that Allison is a part of our awesome local music scene here in Music City; and we love that Allison is an amazing part of our Nashville community where she is operates not only as a musician but as an activist, as a good neighbor, and as an engaged parent. We are thrilled to be able to host this special event and hope you’ll be able to join us for this happy occasion. You can preorder The Returner in the record store or on our webstore here. All orders placed for local pick up will include a wristband for Allison Russell’s signing at Grimey’s on September 8th. This is going to be a super fun time. See you then, Nashville!
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is a paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. There is a police office who lives in the neighborhood across the street from the store and his driveway has been blocked by event attendees 3 times so far in 2023 (!!!) We do not want anger or disrespect any of our neighbors, especially not that one. DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS OR PARK IN UNAPPROVED ALLEY SPACES or you will be swiftly towed. (This is no fun at all.) Please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend this Grimey’s event.
