Whoa. We haven't stopped pinching ourselves over Jeff Tweedy coming to Grimey's to play for fans on his recent solo tour where he was also promoting his book. And now he's coming back with the whole gang to play at Grimey's prior to Wilco's show at the Grand Ol' Opry House Sunday night! Wilco are touring in support of their brand new record Ode To Joy, their 11th album overall. The new record is like a salve, a balm for these turbulent times. It's stripped-down and hushed and features some of Tweedy's most direct lyrics. Jeff's worn and weary voice perfectly suits the material and arrangements. It's meant to be taken as a whole, not as individual tunes, and it's another excellent release from camp Wilco.
Wilco will perform at Grimey's at 1:15PM this Sunday, October 20th. A brief signing will follow the performance. Sorry but no photos during the signing. The band is on a tight schedule and we want as many people as possible to get through the line. You will need a wristband to go through the signing line which you can get by buying Ode To Joy on vinyl or CD at Grimey's. Due to the fact that we sold as many wristbands as we have capacity in the store, the wristband is more or less a requirement to get into the show as well. We have completely sold to capacity on these wristbands - we are no longer giving them out with purchase! If you already bought the new Wilco album at Grimey's, please call us (615-226-3811) and we'll sort it out to get you a wristband.
Parking Deets - We have on-site parking available alongside and behind the shop in our parking lot, but there are only so many spaces. We strongly encourage ride sharing, carpooling, walking, biking, or using a scooter, if those are options for you. If you are driving, please be aware that there is an inexpensive pay lot located just behind Waldon Bar/Mickey's Tavern, right around the corner from Grimey's on Gallatin Road. It's a very short walk from that paid parking lot to the store. Additional parking is available on the city streets near the shop, but please note that many of these streets are narrow and become literally impassable when there are cars parked on both sides. We do not want to inconvenience our neighbors, so please be conscious of this by not blocking the street or driveways.
We can't wait to see you this Sunday for what's sure to be an incredible experience with one of our favorite bands!
