Hitting The Racks

Here's your weekly rundown of what's hitting the new release racks at Grimey's

New Releases

Charli XCX – brat and it’s the same but there’s three more songs but it’s not 2xLP (Atlantic)

Limited double white color vinyl LP pressing. Charli's smash studio album expanded with three bonus tracks. For her sixth studio album, the dance/electronic music album Brat, Charli XCX worked with the likes of Gesaffelstein and Hudson Mohawke.

Delain – Dance With The Devil CDEP/12” (Napalm)

Melodic synth-metal masters Delain are back with a new EP.

Friedberg – Hardcore Workout Queen CD/LP (Clouds Hill)

The alt-rock quartet's first record is filled with songs made for long drives with close pals, the sort of journeys where deep conversations become second nature and your innermost feelings are discussed over service station snacks and slightly-too-warm fizzy drinks. The kind of road trip you never want to end. On the record the band broaden their sonic palettes: psychedelia, dance-punk and beyond all joining the fray, often coupled with huge pop-leaning hooks.

Garfunkel & Garfunkel – Father And Son CD/LP (BMG)

Art Garfunkel is easily one of the greatest singers in the history of pop music: 8 Grammy wins, 13 nominations and countless gold/platinum awards paved the way for his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It's a long and impressive list of accomplishments that has been extremely inspiring and motivating for his son, Art Garfunkel, Jr. Although the 33-year-old is only getting started as a singer, he recently racked up two successive Top 10 albums in Germany. This year, Garfunkel & Garfunkel are going to present their first collaborative studio album - aptly titled, Father And Son. It's a stunning cover album that features a selection of personal favorites from the last century.

Dave Holland – United CD/LP (Edition)

Two musical giants, guitarist Lionel Loueke and bassist Dave Holland, unite their individual talents into one harmonious recording, igniting creativity, honoring cultural roots, and showcasing music's powerful role in fostering unity amidst societal division. United is an inspiring testament to the power of collaboration, blending Loueke's masterful guitar work with Holland's deep, resonant bass.

Maul - In the Jaws of Bereavement LP (20 Buck Spin)

The follow-up to 2022's Seraphic Punishment. While the rotten death metal heart at the core of the band is without question, the band have no shame in their game when it comes to embracing a penchant for the heavier side of hardcore with mosh-ready riffs and crowd-killing breaks. In The Jaws Of Bereavement manages to so skillfully fuse the eerie apparitions and melodic lead work of death metal’s greats with the punishing rhythms of hardcore’s violent power it feels completely organic. It’s all tied together by the unhinged vocal prowess of the human wrecking ball Garrett Alvarado.

Mk. Gee – Two Star & The Dream Police LP (Many Hats)

Green vinyl pressing. Two Star & The Dream Police is the latest album by songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Mk. Gee. Two Star & The Dream Police blends '80s pop, rock, and R&B, the record brimming with expansive, genre-defying, and loosely structured songs that evoke dreaminess and emotion.

Mt. Joy – Live At The Salt Shed 3xLP (Dualtone Music Group)

Live At The Salt Shed was recorded over four sold-out nights at the famed Chicago venue to Celebrate New Year's 2024. This title shipped late and will arrive next week.

Dora Morelenbaum – Pique LP (Mr Bongo)

Pique is the sensational debut solo album from Dora Morelenbaum, one of the key talents spearheading Brazil's new musical wave. A member of the Latin Grammy award-winning band, Bala Desejo, Dora showcases a new side to her solo productions on this special LP. Whereas Dora's first solo EP, Vento de Beirada, was a leap of faith, Pique sees her soaring as one of Brazil's standout stars, emboldened, emphatic but ever elegant. Building bridges between past and present, it's a funkier, more groove-based affair, weaved together with those signature, slower, celestial tracks. Touching on disco, MPB, soul, R&B and jazz, the album is enriched with an indie pop aesthetic courtesy of fellow Brazilian star and co-producer, Ana Frango Elétrico. [Indie store exclusive red vinyl.]

Our Girl – The Good Kind CD/LP (Bella Union)

The expression of hard-fought optimism encapsulates Our Girl's second LP; dealing with themes of sexuality, relationships, community, and illness. Recorded at Rockfield studios and produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding, Dry Cleaning), Fern Ford (The Big Moon, Prima Queen), and Soph Nathan (also of The Big Moon), this album, filled with warmth and honesty, marks a significant artistic step forward since their acclaimed debut album, Stranger Today. [A white color vinyl pressing is available.]

Primal Scream – Come Ahead CD/2xLP (BMG)

Primal Scream defy easy categorization - constantly evolving and challenging expectations, making intelligent and uncompromising music. Come Ahead is their first studio record since 2016's Chaosmosis, is no different and is produced by David Holmes with artist Jim Lambie collaborating on the cover art.

PYPY - Sacred Times LP (Goner)

If PYPY's (pronounced 'pie pie') debut album Pagan Day bounced, punched and clawed like Delta 5 covered in dirt and trying to get somewhere in a booted vehicle while dodging lightning rod guitar licks the whole way, Sacred Times takes things to somewhere far beyond the proverbial “next level.” Co-vocalist / founder / multi-instrumentalist Annie-Claude Deschênes’ (Duchess Says) signature howl and vocal acrobatics are present, but so is a tendency towards beautiful melodies. Bassist Philippe Clement’s (Duchess Says) brings a nastier bottom end that locks onto Simon Besré’s drumming with a death grip for the entire affair. And guitarist / co-vocalist Roy Vucino (Red Mass, CPC Gangbangs, Black Leather Rose, Les Sexareenos, a gazillion others) goes bonkers with wildass blown-out guitar that’s like hornets caught in one’s hair.

The Smashing Times – Mrs. Ladyships and The Cleanerhouse Boys LP (K.)

Is there REALLY a new Merseybeat Revolution? How many times can you really REALLY watch The Blow-Up alone in your room? Why don't you venture out the front door and take a bite of the real thing? The Smashing Times are a mainstay in the indie pop underground. The group mistrals the new modern life perfectly, the sharper world. collaged with 12 string guitar and mallet on the floor tom.

State Champs – State Champs CD/LP (Pure Noise)

State Champs surges with the energy of The Finer Things (2013), Around The World And Back (2015), and Living Proof (2018). It expands on the Kings Of Tthe New Age (2022) blueprint. That beloved post-pandemic album proved the band will survive. State Champs now sees them thrive. Songs like "Silver Cloud," "Clueless," "Sobering," "Tight Grip," "I Still Want To," and "Golden Years" explode with high-energy, passionate, and smartly constructed precision. While big, bold, and slick, the production nevertheless sounds like a band in a room together or decimating the stage. [Multiple vinyl colorways are available, including indie store exclusive clear w/ white splatter.]

Allen Stone – Mystery 12” (ATO)

Clear vinyl pressing. While working on his next studio album, Allen Stone realized he had enough material for multiple records and thus the Mystery EP was born. Features seven new songs, including the title track produced by 5-time Grammy-winner PJ Morton (Stevie Wonder, Maroon 5) and "Can't Explain This Love," produced by Eric Krasno of Soulive.

Various Artists – Like Someone I Know: A Celebration Of Margo Guryan CD/LP (Sub Pop)

Most of our stories about cult musicians who make an album or two and then seem to vanish are framed by grief, despair, and frayed ambition. Not so with Margo Guryan, an ardent jazz anomaly who disdained pop music until hearing "God Only Knows" in 1966, opening a window onto the wonders that form could contain. Only two years later, she released her own set of little pop symphonies, Take A Picture, to great praise and expectation. But, having already divorced the hard-gigging valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer, she declined to tour or even talk about it all that much, content even if her reticence meant Take A Picture was soon consigned to discount racks and cutout bins. Now, a dozen artists-none of whom were born when Take A Picture was made, most of whom weren't even born for a crucial early reissue by Franklin Castle-have reinterpreted and reimagined that entire album (plus one bonus track) for Like Someone I Know: A Celebration Of Margo Guryan. Empress Of, Margo Price, Clairo, June McDoom: They all affirm Guryan's sharpness as a songwriter and the brilliance of an album that has far outstripped whatever promotional cycle Guryan rejected so long ago.

Various Artists - The Lost Record OST LP (In the Red)

The Lost Record is the underground rock 'n’ roll exploitation sci-fi film of this time. Starring Pauline Jorry and featuring appearances and contributions from Henry Rollins, Emmett Kelly, Michelle Mae, Paul Zone, Howie Pyro, Kid Congo, Crush, Automatic Band and scores of other underground notables, The Lost Record—directed and produced by Ian F. Svenonius and Alexandra Cabral—is a film set in a murky indeterminate future / past world where one record, The #1 Record, holds sway over society. In this world The #1 Record is unavoidable and ubiquitous; pumped out nonstop on the airwaves, intercom, and television with its irresistible and infectious message of totalitarian consumer control.

Cory Wong & Metropole Orkest – Starship Syncopation LP (Diggers Factory)

“I did a short run of concerts a few years back that featured the Metropole Orkest, and we've discussed working on a project together ever since. I've never seen an orchestra who is so versatile in being able to play classical and also groove based music. I knew that we'd be able to capture something really special if I utilized them alongside my band. When writing this album I knew that the hard hitting groove and funk elements needed to be represented, but in a new and unique way that I've not been able to explore on past projects.”

Dan + Claudia Zanes – Pieces Of Home LP (Smithsonian Folkways)

Pieces Of Home by Dan + Claudia Zanes is a fresh collection of songs for people of all ages: joyful songs to restore the spirit and uplift the soul. These are old and new tunes, performed by old and new friends, rooted in those crucial American and Haitian folk traditions that call family and neighbors to sing together, dance together, and play together. This album is a front-row ticket to a front porch concert - an invitation to sit and stay for a while. With voices raised in beautiful harmony, Dan and Claudia remind us that with the people we love by our side, we can find home wherever we are.

Tim Bernardes – Recomeçar [Reissue/2017] CD/LP (Psychic Hotline)

Tim Bernardes is a two-time Latin Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and producer, who emerged as one of Brazil's most profound musical talents of his generation as well as a global phenomenon. Now widely available for the first time, Recomeçar is a collection of intimate reflections on the nature of heartbreak and loss.

Buffalo Tom – Birdbrain [Reissue/1990] LP (Beggars Banquet)
Buffalo Tom – Big Red Letter Day [Reissue/1993] LP (Beggars Banquet)

From the first notes of Buffalo Tom's second album, Birdbrain, it was clear the band had done more than their share of growing up since their self-titled debut, which had come out the year before. The title cut leaps out of the gate with a tight snap that leaves anything on the first album in the dust; drummer Tom Maginnis and bassist Chris Colbourn sound far tighter and more unified as a rhythm section, and guitarist and vocalist Bill Janovitz reveals a taut, slashing authority that was quite a change from the sloppy, sometimes meandering sound he'd summoned up his first time at bat. Just as roadwork had firmed up Buffalo Tom's sound, their songwriting was also steadily improving. Big Red Letter Day found the band doing what they do very well indeed, but with more body and gloss to the production.

Cassius – Best Of 1996-2019 2xLP (Because Music)

Cassius - the duo of Hubert 'Boombass' Blanc-Francard & Philipp 'Zdar' Cerboneschi - was one of the seminal French Touch pioneers. Featuring 20 tracks on 2 LPs in gatefold jacket with liner notes by Boombass about Cassius and in memory of Zdar. All the classics from, "Cassius 1999," "I 3 U SO," "Feeling For You," "Toop Toop," to "Go Up," "The Sound Of Violence," and "Don't Let Me Be," plus the band's favorites and rarities.

The Charlatans – Up To Our Hips [Reissue/1994] 2xLP (Beggars Banquet)

The set features the original album in addition to 10 bonus tracks comprised of live session recordings, rare mixes and more, all curated by Tim Burgess. The special package has brand new reimagined artwork by Nik Void and the LP is pressed on petrol blue bio vinyl.

Sussan Deyhim & Richard Horowitz – The Invisible Road: Original Recordings, 1985-1990 LP (Freedom To Spend)

The Invisible Road: Original Recordings, 1985-1990 compiles an unheard, previously unreleased body of recordings by Sussan Deyhim and Richard Horowitz, dissidents from diametric backgrounds who met during the heady days of Downtown New York in the 1980s. This collection reveals the creative and life partners' radical shared vision of avant-garde pop in all of its boundary pushing freedom, combining Deyhim's singular approach to vocalization, Horowitz's invention of new musical languages, and touchstones of traditional music from around the world, creating a new music that ultimately retains a voice entirely its own.

Bruce Haack – The Electric Lucifer [Reissue/1970] LP (Telephone Explosion)

‘Heaven & Hell’ color vinyl pressing. Originally released in 1970, The Electric Lucifer was Haack’s first work pitched to a contemporary rock audience, released by Columbia Records in the dying days of a post-hippie moment when bizarro outsider-psych could still find a home on a major label. If it was not the first rock record to feature electronics, it was certainly among the first to give them a starring role—both musically and conceptually.

Johnny Hartman – I Just Dropped By To Say Hello [Reissue/1964] LP (Verve)

The second of three albums Johnny Hartman recorded for Impulse! (and following the classic Coltrane/Hartman masterpiece), Hartman's voice is again on display at his best, including "Wee Small Hours of the Morning," "Charade" and "Sleepin' Bee." Hartman's supporting cast is nearly as impressive as his voice, with Hank and Elvin Jones (piano/drums) and Milt Hinton (bass) as rhythm section. Kenny Burrell and Jim Hall contribute on guitar across the album and Illinois Jacquet (tenor) performs on five songs.

Coleman Hawkins Quartet – Today And Now [Reissue/1963] LP (Verve)

Recorded in 1962, Cole Hawkins Quartet featuring Tommy Flanagan (piano), Major Holley (bass) and Eddie Locke (drums) puts forth an easily palatable selection of repertoire, with up-tempo moments like "Go Li'l Liza," and "Swingin' Scotch," alongside a trio of ballads including Quincy Jones' "Quintessence."

Chris Isaak – Heart Shaped World [Reissue/1989] LP (Chris Isaak)

Limited picture disc vinyl LP pressing. Heart Shaped World is Chris Isaak's third studio album. Released in the summer of 1989, it features his breakthrough hit, "Wicked Game." Lee Chesnut, music director at WAPW in Atlanta, played the song repeatedly for two weeks after hearing a version on the soundtrack to David Lynch's 1990 film, Wild At Heart.

Keith Jarrett – At The Deer Head Inn [Reissue/1992] CD (ECM)

At The Deer Head Inn, released in 1992, was the first selection of material from pianist Keith Jarrett's spontaneous, and in retrospect historic, return to the Pennsylvanian venue of his early years. "The music has the dash and the unabashed lyricism of Keith Jarrett's best work," wrote Stereophile in 1994. All attributes applicable to this edition, featuring 8 previously unreleased performances, which dives deeply into the magic of this special live event. A one-night-only coming together of a Jarrett trio with Gary Peacock (bass) and Paul Motian (drums).

Nick Lowe – Labour Of Lust [Reissue/1979] LP (Yep Roc)

Green vinyl pressing. Originally released in 1979, Nick Lowe's Labour Of Lust album has been remastered to its original glory and now includes both the U.K.-only track "Endless Grey Ribbon" and the U.S.-only track "American Squirm," along with the bonus B-Side "Basing Street." Hailed by Trouser Press as "a brilliant piss-taker that pairs sprightly pop and savage lyrical wit" and by Rolling Stone as "...a hookfest full of barbed wit," the album features Nick Lowe's worldwide mega-hit "Cruel to Be Kind" amongst other fan-favorites.

Bob Marley and The Wailers – Exodus [Reissue/1977] LP+10” (Tuff Gong)

Celebrating the 2024 biopic, One Love, on the life of a global icon Bob Marley, Island/UMe releases his timeless album Exodus in a new limited edition. Featuring the original album with an alternate cover, new liner notes and an essay by Jamaican music historian Herbie Miller. A bonus 10” EP contains dub versions of “Exodus,” “Jamming” and “Punky Reggae Party,” plus the rare track “Roots,” all housed in a gatefold jacket.

Cass McCombs – Seed Cake On Leap Year – Unreleased Songs [1999-2000] CD/LP (Domino)

A collection of early, previously unreleased music recorded at Jason Quever's apartment at 924 Fulton in San Francisco while McCombs was living in Berkeley between 1999-2000. The Bay Area in the late ‘90s housed a special community of artists including Papercuts, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Chris Cohen’s Curtains, and Mt. Egypt. The ethos was for maximum integrity and intimacy, and often music would only be shared with close friends. Graffiti writers, skaters and old timers from the 60s were never far away or far from mind.

Annette Peacock – An Acrobat’s Heart [Reissue/2000] 2xLP (ECM)

An Acrobat's Heart is a ravishingly beautiful album by one of the most mysterious, elusive and beguiling figures on the fringes of jazz. It features the unique vocals and piano playing of singer-songwriter Annette Peacock, performing her own compositions with the acclaimed Cikada String Quartet. Available for the first time on vinyl.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats – Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats [Reissue/2015] LP (Fantasy)

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats practically explode with deep, primal and ecstatic soulfulness. You don't just listen to this record - you experience it. It's fitting that their 2015 self-titled album bears the iconic Stax Records logo because at certain moments Rateliff seems to be channeling soul greats like Otis Redding and Sam & Dave. Metallic gold vinyl.

Ratt – Out Of The Cellar (40th Anniversary) CD/LP+7” (BMG)

Ratt exploded onto the national scene in 1984 with the release of their debut album, Out Of The Cellar. Featuring an undeniable hook and legendary music video, lead single, "Round And Round," hit #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album reached #7 on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple-platinum. [Limited edition red w/ black splatter vinyl with orange 7”.]

Roedelius – 90 4xLP (Groenland)

90 is in no way intended as the exhaustive retrospective of the oeuvre of an important artist (this can, and should, be done in the coming years by someone more qualified than me.) The actual chronology of these pieces, and in some cases who might have collaborated with Achim on them, remain a mystery. But the historical context of this music is undeniably compelling—it doesn’t feel like hyperbole to suggest that these cascading, hypnotic cycles equal the best of contemporaries like Terry Riley, working half a world away on their own minimal masterpieces. For now, a celebration is sufficient—the portrait of an extraordinary life at 90, narrated in beautiful, intimate, innovative music.

Elliott Smith – From A Basement On The Hill [Reissue/2004] LP (Kill Rock Stars)

Brand new digital transfers from the original 1/4” tape mixes by Rob Schnapf & Joanna Bolme. Remastered by the official Elliott Smith archival team of Larry Crane (Jackpot! Studio/Tape Op) and Adam Gonsalves (Telegraph Mastering). From A Basement On The Hill is Smiths final recording and finds Smith returning to an edgier, guitar-driven sound, alongside his trademark heart-rending balladry. [Limited edition blue vinyl.]

Snarky Puppy – Sylva [Reissue/2015] 2xCD (Ground Up)

Digitally remixed and remastered edition. 5-time Grammy-winners Snarky Puppy reissue their popular album Sylva. This edition includes the 6 original tracks along with 2 alternate takes of "The Curtain" and "The Clearing."

Souled American - Notes Campfire LP (Scissor Tail Editions)

The band Souled American formed in Chicago in 1986 and recorded a total of sixty-six songs between 1988 and 1996. Though not ever popular themselves, their evolving hybrid of roots / rock music heavily influenced many more popular bands to come, among them Wilco, The Jayhawks, The Feelies, Califone, Counting Crows, The Mountain Goats, and Cracker. Their records became legendary, unavailable for decades. Scissor Tail Editions is reissuing their last two albums Frozen and Notes Campfire in limited, hand-crafted, 30th Anniversary Editions with a fresh abundance of stories, technical information, musician credits, and cartoons that detail the unexpected origins surrounding these two early classics of “ambient Americana.” These records sound at once both old and new with brilliant melodies and profound performances stacked in unusual patterns like soft-hued bricks.

Spoon – They Want My Soul (Deluxe More Soul Edition) 2xCD/2xLP (Matador)

Along with the record’s original 10 tracks – including all-time Spoon classics “Inside Out,” “Do You,” and “Rent I Pay” – They Want My Soul: Deluxe More Soul Edition features 11 demos and alternate versions, almost all of them previously unreleased. The reissue underlines the album’s vaunted place amid one of rock’s most bulletproof catalogs and offers a glimpse at the creative process behind a pivotal moment in ongoing the Spoon story.

Talking Heads – Talking Heads: 77 3xCD+Blu-ray Audio/4xLP+4x7” (Sire)

Returning to where it all began, Talking Heads proudly presents the brand new and extensive Talking Heads: 77. This Super Deluxe Edition charts the development of the band from the original trio of David Byrne, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth into the classic four-person lineup with the addition of former Modern Lover member Jerry Harrison. Spread across nearly three hours of material, this Super Deluxe Edition features a brand new remaster of the original album.

Tsunami – Loud Is As 5xLP (Numero)

Sprung from the DC punk and politics that inspired Dischord, TeenBeat and the Riot Grrrl revolution, Washington, DC's Tsunami crashed into the ‘90s with wit, distortion and a sharp-tongued feminist spirit. This five LP box set collects eleven 7"s, 4-track demos, 1993's Deep End, 1994's The Heart's Tremolo, plus the first-ever vinyl pressing of 1997's acclaimed A Brilliant Mistake. Drawing on the suitcase archives of their own Simple Machines Records, Tsunami's ambition - from all-ages basement shows to the second stage of Lollapalooza - is captured in essays, photos, and ephemera, revealing the DIY history of the alternative music revolution. [A color vinyl pressing is available.]

The Twilight Sad – Forget The Night Ahead [Reissue/2009] 2xLP (Fat Cat)

The Twilight Sad are celebrating the 15th Anniversary of their second studio album, Forget The Night Ahead, with an eagerly awaited vinyl repress featuring a new variation of the original artwork. Forget The Night Ahead was an even darker set than its hallowed predecessor, Fourteen Autumns And Fifteen Winters, with James Graham's portentous knack for unsettling lines, forcefully delivered in his own Caledonian burr remaining very much on point.

Various Artists - Virtual Dreams II: Ambient Explorations In The House & Techno Age, Japan 1993-1999 2LP (Music from Memory)

Virtual Dreams II aims to shine a light on a unique moment when ambient music threaded through the emerging club culture in Japan. This period saw the birth of many great Japanese techno labels, such as Sublime Records, Transonic Records, Syzygy Records, Frogman Records, and Form@ Records, which followed in the late '90s. The compilation features ambient, chill-out, and intelligent techno from these leading labels alongside lesser-known but equally influential imprints, as well as ambient deviations from Japanese house producers. Much of the music has only ever been released on CD.

Violent Femmes – Hallowed Ground [Reissue/1984] LP (Craft Recordings)

Hallowed Ground is the 1984 follow-up to the Violent Femmes' legendary self-titled debut album. Similar to the first album, all of the songs were written by lead singer Gordon Gano while still in high school. The band's sophomore title, however, pushed the band in new directions and made sure they did not rest on their laurels - featuring fan favorites (and live staples) "Country Death Song," "Jesus Walking on the Water," "I Hear The Rain," "Black Girls" and "Never Tell." [Indie store exclusive orange w/ smoke colorway is available.]

Ben Webster – At The Renaissance [Reissue/1985] LP (Craft Recordings)

Recorded live at The Renaissance in Hollywood, CA on Oct 14 1960, Ben Webster At The Renaissance was released on Contemporary Records. Featuring with Saxophonist Webster are Jim Hall (guitar), Jimmy Rowles (piano), Red Mitchell (bass), and Frank Butler (drums).

Wednesday - Mowing the Leaves Instead of Piling 'Em Up LP (Orindal)

Vinyl reissue of the band's 2022 covers record. Frontperson Karly Hartzman says, "Wednesday owes so much to our musical influences. The music we love is a big part of what brought us together. Our common interests in noisey ‘90s guitars, good lyrics, and country music was quickly what permeated into our voice as a band. Most decisions in our songs are made by an amalgamation of all five of our inputs, which happens pretty naturally because of this thread of influences that ties us together. When I was thinking if there was anything that these songs have in common, the main thing I found recurring was the combination of sadness and humor. It’s effective as hell to combine the two emotions, making each other more intense by the contrast..." Features songs by Gary Stewart, Chris Bell, Roger Miller, Drive By Truckers, Hotline TNT, Greg Sage, Vic Chesnutt, Medicine, and Smashing Pumpkins. Pressed on pilsner beer yellow vinyl.

Zero 7 – When It Falls [Reissue/2004] LP (New State)

When It Falls, originally released in 2004, is a timelessly classic album from seminal electronic band Zero 7. It is the essential soundtrack to any laidback summer chilling. Singles taken from the original album include "Home" with Tina Dico on vocal duties and "Warm Sounds" featuring Mozez. Sia and Sophie Barker also feature on the album, on tracks "Somersault," "In Time," and "Speed Dial No. 2".
