Arm’s Length – Never Before Seen, Never Again Found LP (Wax Bodega)
Midnight haze color vinyl. Never Before Seen, Never Again Found is the debut LP from Quinte West, Ontario band Arm's Length. Along with its title, titanic emo punk compositions, and melodic beauty, Never Before Seen, Never Again Found feels like a defining record of a new generation of emo because of where it's from: three young people grappling with the brutality, confusion, and deep-rooted family traumas of 21st century life amid the funerals, farm fields, and strip malls of a rural, small-town Ontario community, with little hope of getting out. It is a record that is, like all great emo records, stuck in a pit of darkness, clawing and fighting like hell to get into the light.
Beachwood Sparks – Across The River Of Stars CD/LP (Curation)
After a 12-year hibernation, Beachwood Sparks emerges with Across The River Of Stars, a transcendent and succinct sonic odyssey. Under the guiding hand of Chris Robinson, the band's revival showcases their growth and musical maturity. From their indie roots to this celestial return, the album bridges the past and present, offering a journey through cosmic and earthy landscapes. Within its nine songs Across The River Of Stars invites listeners to rediscover Beachwood Sparks. [Limited edition blue vinyl.]
George Benson – Dreams Do Come True: When George Benson Meets Robert Farnon (featuring The Robert Farnon Orchestra) CD/LP (Rhino)
Vintage George Benson vocals float over an orchestral reimagining of beloved American standards and soul classics in this incredible collaboration with renowned composer and conductor, Robert Farnon. The brand new 10-track collection, once thought to be lost to history, was recently discovered in Benson's personal vaults and remastered to their original glory.
Bizhiki – Unbound CD/LP (Jagjaguwar)
Unbound opens with a single, trembling chord that rises and descends before meeting a warm, beguiling voice, a voice singing in a tradition that's been heard in this northern river country for millennia. The music that follows is a soulful dialogue between the ancient tradition of powwow singing and a contemporary musical palette. On Unbound, the powwow style of singing is entwined with synthesized voice modulation, and hand drumming is accented with electronic samples and beats - the harmonies and resonances are equal parts cultural and musical. Geographically, Bizhiki is almost wholly a made-in-Wisconsin project, a collaboration between Dylan Bizhikiins Jennings, Joe Rainey and the multi-instrumentalist Sean Carey (S. Carey), who for years has been a secret weapon within the Bon Iver family. [Limited edition sky blue vinyl.]
Blitzen Trapper – 100’s Of 1000’s, Millions Of Billions CD/LP (Yep Roc)
Turquoise color vinyl. Inspired by the Buddhist sutras, Blitzen Trapper’s radiant new album, 100's Of 1000's, Millions Of Billions, offers a captivating take on rebirth and transcendence, navigating its way through the space beyond dreams and reality, beyond gods and mortals, beyond life and death. The songs here are as sincere as they are surreal, rooted in rich character studies and deep reflection, and the production is intoxicating to match, blending lo-fi intimacy and trippy psychedelia into a mesmerizing swirl of analog and electronic sounds. Add it all together and you’ve got a gorgeous collection of stripped-down bedroom folk wrapped in lush layers of synthesizers and washed-out electric guitars, a poignant, expansive exploration of perception and purpose that manages to look both forwards and backwards all at once.
Melissa Carper – Borned In Ya CD/LP (Mae Music)
Borned In Ya showcases Carper's long-standing musical influences as well as her artistic growth and sense of adventure. In addition to her familiar blend of country with jazz, blues, soul, and R&B, the album sees Carper continuing her subtle mix of these elements, creating songs that cross the genres, calling back to the "popular" sounds of another era. From Gospel-style vocal choruses to funky grooves, to recalling the classic R&B of the ‘50s and ‘60s, to hillbilly jazz, honky-tonk, and country soul, Carper has created another stunner for eager listeners to enjoy. [Limited edition green vinyl.]
Kiely Connell – My Own Company CD/LP (Calumet Queen)
My Own Company is Kiely Connell's sophomore album that is a continuation of where her debut album Calumet Queen left off. My Own Company reflects where her life is at 34 after being in Nashville for a decade. Mental health is the overarching theme of the album's 10 songs. The album was produced by Tucker Martine (The Avett Brothers, Rosanne Cash, Aoife O'Donovan, The Decemberists) who captured a country, Americana sound with pop elements. Kiely wrote "Through To You" and "Anesthesia" and is the co-writer on the remaining songs.
Deep Purple - =1 CD/CD+DVD/2xLP/LP+CD+DVD/LP+3x10”+CD+DVD (earMUSIC)
=1 is the highly anticipated album by one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Deep Purple. Produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin, this record captures the band's pioneering classic sound without relying on nostalgia, embodying the essence and attitude of their 1970s incarnation possibly more than any other recent album. The enigmatic title =1 symbolizes the idea that in a world growing ever more complex, everything eventually simplifies down to a single, unified essence. It all adds up to one. [ndie store exclusive clear pressing. Also available: two expanded versions featuring a DVD and a wealth of bonus material.]
Dr. Dog – Dr. Dog CD/LP (We Buy Gold)
For more than two decades, Dr. Dog has maintained a shared devotion to the unruly alchemy of making music. When it came time to create their eleventh studio album, the Philadelphia-bred band adopted an entirely new way of working together, embracing a multilayered process designed to foster a deeper synergy among its five members (bassist Toby Leaman, lead guitarist Scott McMicken, rhythm guitarist Frank McElroy, keyboardist Zach Miller, and drummer Eric Slick). After beginning that journey with a close-knit session at Leaman's uncle's cabin in the Pennsylvania woods, Dr. Dog steadily made their way toward the joyfully unfettered psych-rock of their new self-titled LP.
Wyatt Flores – Half Life CDEP/12” (Island)
New release from the country singer-songwriter. Half Life picks up where Life Lessons left off – its eight songs continuing to showcase Wyatt’s distinct exploration of the human experience. While addressing themes of regrets, relationships and self-discovery, the EP encourages listeners to embrace the fleeting moments of connection and passion, to seize the present, cherish loved ones, and pursue personal growth and reconciliation, even in the face of adversity and toxic influences.

Griff – Vertigo CD/LP (WB)
Griff's major label debut album Vertigo is a coming-of-age album shaped for complex times. Vertigo witnesses Griff scaling new creative heights without compromising the hand-stitched, home-made magic that first marked her out as British Pop's most modern, exciting voice. It's a journey of self-discovery that Griff has taken fans on ever since, building the three volumes of her landmark project in real-time and weaving songs that resonated with the vertigo arc into work that moves through melancholy and heartache into healing and joy. With a 360-approach on everything from production right down to her signature hair style, Griff's debut album turns the tumultuousness of young adulthood into a source of power. [Limited edition sea blue biodegradable vinyl.]
Giovanni Guidi with James Brandon Lewis / Thom Morgan / João Lobo – A New Day CD (ECM)
Rekindling the familiarly flowing interplay with fellow travelers Thomas Morgan and João Lobo, on A New Day, Italian pianist Giovanni Guidi expands the group’s instrumental grasp with the introduction of American saxophonist James Brandon Lewis. The album is a 10-track exploration into groove, blues and soul, deeply hypnotic from start to finish.

[An indie store exclusive black & blue vinyl pressing is available.]
Lava La Rue – Starface LP (Dirty Hit)
A defining talent on London's music scene, Lava La Rue is a true creative powerhouse. Exploring various genre influences and featuring collaborations from Cuco, Audrey Nuna and more, Lava has their eyes set on world domination.
Lilacs & Champagne – Fantasy World CD/LP (Temporary Residence)
Nearly a decade after their last album, Lilacs and Champagne picks up right where that record, Midnight Features Vol. 2: Made Flesh, left off. With bizarre excursions into pillowy, sentimental made-for-TV music - and children's choirs incanting the blackest dread-filled music the band has conjured to date - Fantasy World is both transcendent and traumatic. [Limited edition deep purple vinyl.]
Orquesta Akokán – Caracoles CD/LP+MP3 (Daptone)
Out last week on vinyl, now on CD. Grammy-nominated Orquesta Akokán continue to vibrantly usher the mambo into the 21st century and offer a glorious return to the iconic grooves of an era indelibly marked by Benny Moré and Perez Prado in New York bands and Cuba's orquestas gigantes of the mid-twentieth century. The album's fierce, effervescent grooves are designed to transmit feelings and emotions; this is music which inspires the body to move and the mind to uplift. [An indie store exclusive blue color vinyl pressing is available.
Parlor Greens – In Green We Dream CD/LP (Colemine)

Role Model – Kansas Anymore CD/LP (Interscope)
Role Model's sophomore album Kansas Anymore is inspired by homesickness, heartbreak, and the process of redefining oneself. He began the project in 2022 but, faced with the ending of a formative relationship, he scrapped much of this early work. On his own and reinspired, he started anew, collaborating with Noah Conrad, Ian Fitchuk, Scott Harris & Jonah Shy to craft "Kansas Anymore" - a folk-tinged, lyric driven album featuring 13 new songs including "Oh Gemini" and "Deeply Still in Love."
Greg Saunier – We Sang, Therefore We Were LP (Joyful Noise)
Purple vinyl pressing. It's already hard to describe what Deerhoof sounds like. So we'll skip that part and say this sounds a lot like Deerhoof with a different singer. And in keeping with 30-year Hoofian tradition, melodies soar, big hit earwigs abound, harmonies are complex, and keys change frequently and unexpectedly. Arrangements are in a constant state of impatient agitation. Emotions run high but delivery is usually a falsetto deadpan. We Sang, Therefore We Were is grief delivered in code.
sparkle*jets u.k. – Box Of Letters CD/LP (Big Stir)
sparkle*jets u.k. are known as fine songwriters, working from a Beatles-and-Beach Boys base with hints of everyone from Steely Dan to The Breeders. They've debuted new tunes onstage over the years, giving fans ample reason to anticipate a new set of signature SJUK popcraft on record. But as sweet as their covers album Best Of Friends was, the wait continued... until now: “Box Of Letters” is not just the first single from the band's new album, it's also the title track.
Vince Staples – Dark Times LP (Def Jam)
Dark Times is the sixth studio album by rapper Vince Staples. Dark Times serves as the Long Beach rapper's sixth studio album and is a snapshot of Staples presently: on top of the world on the surface, but reality might be trickier. Throughout the album's thirteen tracks, he grapples with life's heaviness, all while understanding what the gravity of his work means in the grand scheme of things.

From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones franchises, Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of Minari, and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing), Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) and Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts) as equal forces, with opposing motivations, who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.

More heavily produced than its predecessor, Light Years contains several sequence-driven tracks, Corea's attempt at reaching out to a wider audience with a brand of music that was tighter, funkier and eminently more communicative than he had recorded on 1986's The Chick Corea Elektric Band.
Pepe de Lucia & Paco de Lucía – Pepito y Paquito CD/2xLP (BMG)
In 1959, a family friend went to the home of Paco de Lucía and Pepe de Lucía where he made several recordings with a Grundig TK46 tape recorder. This tape disappeared in 1967 and, after a long search process, was rediscovered in 2022, when a restoration process started using AI tools. The historical value of this recording is incalculable, and it gathers in 21 pieces an anthology of flamenco where most of its variants are represented (tangos, soleá, seguiriyas, bulerías...). It is, in short, the definitive recording to illustrate the transition from classical flamenco to modern flamenco as we know it today and the first known recordings of Pepe and Paco de Lucia.

He moved to Gary, Indiana where he recorded his first disc for Parrot Records, and in 1956 relocated to Missouri where he began playing his signature Gibson Flying V electric guitar, which he named "Lucy". Pete Rock – Petestrumentals 2 [Reissue/2015] LP (Mello Music)
Limited metallic gold colored vinyl LP pressing. Includes sticker. Pete Rock is the man who J Dilla told, "I wanted to be like you." Kanye once called himself the "new Pete Rock." But the original Pete Rock remains permanently vital. The evidence bangs in his 2015 opus, Petestrumentals 2, the sequel to the 2001 classic that helped define the hip-hop instrumental record. It marks the legend's first album on Mello Music Group, a fitting union between the author of the boom-bap blueprint and the label that's expanded upon his legacy. Petestrumentals 2 conjures memories of BBQ cookouts and ‘70s Blaxploitation scores, rattling summer jeep cruises and blunted Jamaican vacations.

Upon its vinyl release last year, Pitchfork rated it an 8.8 (out of 10) and stated that the bonus material "... of in-studio jams suggests they might have rivaled Herbie Hancock's Headhunters as one of funk's greatest groups of improvisers."
