Preorder The War & Treaty’s new album, Plus One, on vinyl or CD and make plans to join us in the record store on Thursday, February 13th at 4:00 PM for a short instore performance and album signing with the band! All who preorder their new album for local pickup when you’re in the record store or on our site here will score a wristband for the band’s signing. Wristbands are required to participate in the signing for all 13+ and also guarantee entrance to our event (space is limited). Mainly produced by The War & Treaty’s Michael Trotter Jr. and recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Plus One marks Michael and his partner Tanya’s fourth full-length and follow-up to Lover’s Game—a 2023 LP whose standout track “Blank Page” nabbed a Grammy nomination for Best American Roots Song and earned the band a nomination for Best New Artist. To create their most extravagant body of work to date, the duo enlisted their longtime live band and dreamed up a singular sound touched with elements of gospel, bluegrass, contemporary country, classic soul, symphonic pop, folk-rock, and more. Partly made in collaboration with esteemed producers like Jonathan Singleton (Luke Combs, Chase Rice), John Shanks (Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow), and Jesse Frasure (Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini), the result is a transcendent double album firmly rooted in their timeless musicality and forward-thinking vision.

“There’s a spirit in the walls at FAME that I could hear speaking to us—I could feel Wilson Pickett and Percy Sledge and the Allman Brothers, all telling us to be honest and humble and take this moment very seriously,” says Michael. “The goal was to pull from the energy of the past and the present, and come up with something that becomes part of the future.” 

Plus One is available to preorder here on vinyl and CD. Event orders are limited to four (4) albums total, per customer / household, so you can secure up to four (4) total wristbands per order placed. Each album preordered comes with one wristband such that two LPs = 2 wristbands, 1 CD = 1 wristband, etc. *Wristbands are required for all 13+ to participate in our signing. (Kids 12 and under do not need wristbands to participate with a wristband-holding adult.) Space is limited and so are wristbands. Wristbands guarantee entrance to our event.

Event orders may be picked up at Grimey’s on the day of our event, Thursday, February 13th.

Preorders for mail order will ship out from Grimey’s after Thursday, February 13th.

*Event orders for store pickup will be held for three months after release date. Please pick up your Plus One album no later than May 13th.
