Tyler Childers - Rustin' In The Rain
Tyler Childers - Rustin' In The Rain
Rustin’ in the Rain is a bit of a concept album. According to Childers “this album is a concoction of songs I pieced together, envisioning a scenario where I’m showcasing them to Elvis himself.” “Whether it’s covers, collaborations, or my quirky Elvis impressions while tending to the farm or wandering around the house, I sincerely hope you find as much joy in listening to this album as I did in crafting it. Thank you, thank you very much.”
The album includes a cover of Kris Kristofferson’s “Help Me Make It Through the Night” and S.G. Goodman’s “Space and Time” (from her fantastic 2020 album Old Time Feeling), songs that you may have heard if you’ve been lucky enough to catch their largely sold-out 2023 national tour. Our Nashville buds Margo Price and Erin Rae lend their lovely voices to a couple ofsongs on the album, as do S.G. Goodman and The Travelin’ McCourys. Rustin’ in the Rain was produced by Childers and his longtime band The Food Stamps, comprised of James Barker (pedal steel), Craig Burletic (bass), CJ Cain (guitar), Rodney Elkins (drums), Chase Lewis (keyboards), and Jesse Wells (guitar, fiddle).
Released 9/8/2023 via RCA, Rustin’ In the Rain is available here on limited edition green colored vinyl LP and CD.
