Caitlin Rose - CAZIMI
Caitlin Rose - CAZIMI
Nashville’s own Caitlin Rose is back with her third full-length album. CAZIMI was a longtime in the making, coming nine years after her 2013 recordThe Stand In. Last year when ATO released an expanded vinyl edition of 2010’s Own Side Now, we started hearing rumblings of new songs coming soon. And now that time is upon us. Out now, CAZIMI is available on vinyl & CD.
Rose’s new album CAZIMI finds itself released into the world at the exact right time. We’re not quite post-pandemic but we’re certainly post-vibe shift. Things are falling apart, systems are failing in front of us; chaos and danger await us the moment we step out our front doors. The perpetual mood is that of a constant hum of anxiety as we try to cope, with varying degrees of success, with the collective trauma that has consumed us unrelentingly for the past few years. On the album Rose is joined by some impressive musicians including Ethan Ballinger (guitars), Spencer Cullum (pedal steel), Dom Billet (drums, percussion), Jeremy Fetzer (guitars), Ian Fitchuk (drums), Austin Hoke (cello), Brian Kotzur (percussion, drums), Jack Lawrence (bass), Jordan Lehning (acoustic, guitars, keys, percussion, piano), Ian Miller (piano), Luke Schneider (pedal steel, guitars), William Tyler (acoustic, guitars), Jerry Roe (drums, percussion), Sean Thompson (guitars), and Courtney Marie Andrews on background vocals. Rose wrote or co-wrote the vast majority of the songs here and co-produced the record with Lehning. CAZIMI was released on black vinyl & CD on 1/20/23 via Missing Piece Records.
